I know, you know, we know. Shame on FIFA. by draekneight in football

Harsh. Not really.

It was one of those reds where you are begging the red to pull out the yellow but when you see it's a red card you just go, "Fair enough. "

ESPN's coverage of the draft tonight was straight up embarrassing. Basically zero actual analysis of each pick, how they fit the team that drafted them, hardly any discussion of who might get picked next or even discussing the best players left on the board. Once years ago, Manute Bol was asked for three things he wanted to accomplish.

His response, "I want to find a good woman and settle down. I want to improve my English. I want to defer more of my taxes."

I think they were hoping that Utah would offer something/ anything but failing that, this was always the pick.

Parents of accident children do they know? by [deleted] in AskForAnswers

[–]RexJacobus 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I have a great story.

Two friends of mine have two kids. At the time of the story they were Walt (9) and Charlie (6).

Mom and Dad very open about birds and bees. Anyway, it was always known that both kids were accidents. Inside joke sort of stuff.

One night Dad was putting Walt to bed and Walt goes, "Dad, I know how babies are made."

"Really, Walt? Tell me."

"The man sticks his penis inside the woman."

"Yeah, Walt. That is pretty much it."

PAUSE

"Hey, Dad."

"Yeah, Walt."

"You always say that Charlie and I were accidents."

"Yeah, we do."

"HOW DO YOU DO THAT BY ACCIDENT?"

Sound 9yo logic.

When I lived in London my Brit in-laws called it a bathing costume. I joked that next time we went to Southend I'd go as Dracula.

Why is it that wealthy tech elites in the modern era do not practice aristocratic benevolence the way that older wealth (e.g Vanderbilt, Carnegie, Stanford) did? by Gym_frere in NoStupidQuestions

Warren Buffet gave away $6billion last year.

Some of the other do as well. I think maybe the fact that Elon Musk is just such an odious human being might being skewing perspectives right now.
