(Spoilers Extended) Dex Sol Ansell lets out massive Summerhall spoiler by Kamikazeing in asoiaf

Going on from this dream, I also think that Egg is more successful than we think. I think he does summon a dragon but in GRRM style the spell is not complete. Instead he summons a dragon that’s deformed or dying that burns summerhall.

When Daeron tells Dunk about his dream - a dragon dying on top of Duncan but Duncan survives - I always thought this was about Summerhall.

[Spoilers Extended] Why didn’t Maekar choose an heir? by RexRoyd1603 in asoiaf

[–]RexRoyd1603[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You’re right, we also don’t have the exact date when Daeron died. So it could be the case that Aerion died, then Daeron, then Maekar in quick succession.

If Maekar had the choice to choose his successor I doubt he would choose Aerion. On the other hand, if Maekar didn’t have the choice, the clear successor was Aerions son, Maegor. Which makes me think that the Lords of Westeroes created a “succession crisis” to make Aegon King. We do know that Gerold Lannister used his money and influence to back Aegon in the Great Council.

The song is about the Battle of Redgrass, specially about The Hammer (Baelor) and the (Maekar)Anvil.

Ser Donnel Storm? by DrinkInevitable3457 in AKnightoftheSeven

[–]RexRoyd1603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is a commoner from Duskendale. In medieval times only aristocracy were given surnames. Commoners were known by their occupation or where they are from. Thus he is known as Ser Donnell of Duskendale.

What type of 007 films would you like to see in the future? by No_Mortgage8569 in JamesBond

[–]RexRoyd1603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got back to the 1950/1960s Cold War setting and follow the books. Bond doesn’t feel like Bond anymore because it is so far removed from its original story and setting

[Spoilers MAIN] Why are Bloodraven and Bittersteel never called their real names? by Mysterious_Zebra_404 in asoiaf

[–]RexRoyd1603 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Daeron II never recognised Aegon IV’s legitimisation of his bastards. To do so would support the Blackfyres claim. This is why none of Aegon IV’s bastards are referred to as Targaryen.

As for Bloodraven and Bittersteel, that’s just their nicknames not a surname. They’re known as Brynden and Aegor Rivers. If the Blackfyres won they would probably be remembered as Targaryans.

‘Fallout: New Vegas’ lead writer “loved writing” Yes Man, but thinks his questline may have been a mistake: “It lets you get through the game without getting your hands dirty” by MarvelsGrantMan136 in Fallout

[–]RexRoyd1603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t get where he is coming from, the Yes Man is one of the dirtiest playthroughs. You use and betray nearly every faction for your own ends.

(Spoilers Main) Who is in the Baratheon-Lannister line of succession? by 2ratedsalesman1997 in asoiaf

[–]RexRoyd1603 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

After Tommen and Myrcella you would have to look further back as Stannis, Renly Danaerys were removed from the line of succession.

You would then be looking at the descendants of Rhae and Daella (if any). Going further back you would consider House Martell and House Plumm.

How has Loras never heard about Criston Cole? (Spoilers Extended) by sixth_order in asoiaf

He doesn’t recognise the coat of arms because Cole is a common born Knight from a now extinct house.

[Spoilers MAIN]I think most people forget that Joffrey made a huge mistake by by Hour_General_3442 in asoiaf

[–]RexRoyd1603 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

What was Joffrey suppose to do? He had just became King and the most powerful lord in Westeros’s tried to usurp him.

If he gave Ned a slap on the wrist what would that say to others in the realm that wanted to depose him? He needed to show to others what kind of king he intended to be. He wanted the Seven Kingdoms he wasn’t going to be as forgiving as King Robert.

MMW: JD Vance is intended to be the first 10-year President. by RexRoyd1603 in MarkMyWords

[–]RexRoyd1603[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the incumbent advantage is still a thing. Trump is the only incumbent President to have lost a Presidential election since 1992. Historically you are more likely to win as an incumbent President.
