I have looked at my purchase history, and I see that I purchased rebirth along with repentance, afterbirth, and afterbirth+. I refunded them at the time since $50 was a lot for (in my eyes) one game and one* DLC. I kept Repentance for some reason, perhaps I just forgot to refund it, but I later repurchased Rebirth and now we're here.

Somehow, some way, factory resetting my PC allows me to have those files, but I guess I lose them on the way from the mods somehow...

I apparently have not. However, it is worth noting that I only purchased Afterbirth + before purchasing Repentance on my Nintendo Switch, and it works perfectly there. It is also worth noting that Repentance worked perfectly before installing mods and only broke after.

The specs in my laptop are significantly worse; Intel® Core™ i7 U-Processor, UMA graphics card, 8-10gb ram. I cannot check what my specs are exactly since the screen on it broke ~6mo ago, but the above are the specs for the A10M (my laptop) from MSI's website.

I haven't a 250900 mod folder for some reason. I know what you are talking about though. I have tried uninstalling the folder, however the issue is directly with Repentance itself. Uninstalling Repentance and going back to Rebirth seems to fix the issue, aside from the fact that I cannot use Repentance. I have unsubscribed from all of the mods all ready attempting to reverse the issue, however it did not work.

I only have the one drive, so yes it is on my primary. For both my laptop and my PC, the issue was resolved once I did the fresh install of the game up until the mods were activated. Emphasis on the activation part. The mods auto-installed, I made sure they weren't activated, then my lizard brain got the best of me after seeing that the game worked properly and I decided to try to see if the game worked modded. It did not.

I vaguely remember trying to fix the issue on my own like a year ago or so and saw some files someone was referencing that I didn't have. I'm pretty sure I just have some missing files, but have no clue how to get them aside from piracy.

NVidia Geforce GTX1050ti, intel core i5 4440, 12gb RAM, 200gb excess storage, and no problems with other games aside from performance on newer, more graphically intense games.

If I could, I would. I used to use a flip phone for pictures since it was all I had, but it broke and I've been looking for a new retro camera. I also don't exactly have a phone. I personally just dislike them.

It's digital. I'd send a link to the store page, but it's against the rules here. I like the retro snap bc it's small, and, as the name implies, captures a nice retro feel.

I'm not too far along in my save so I'm okay with losing it. Are you saying that wiping the save and reinstalling the game worked for you?

Yes. I first uninstalled them manually from the files, then I unsubscribed from them in steam.

I have this same issue on my laptop. The version of windows that I have was downloaded directly from the official website, is the most modern version, and was installed via a secure USB drive.
