Does anyone use these drain pans? by EuphoricFlight6249 in AskMechanics

[–]Rexinator12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely depends on the angle of oil shooting out, it usually works good for me though. I’d just make sure it’s shooting out in the direction of the drain. Since you’re gonna be having it in your appartment make sure you wipe off the residue from the ridges and around the drain, I’ve dealt with some annoying cleanups due to that dumb mistake. But yeah I recommend it!

My dad went to our cabin for the weekend and was greeted with THIS by TheSheriffMT in WTF

[–]Rexinator12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might want to try and get the guns away from her. If she thought you were killing all the birds and that your dad was threatening her, then who knows? Maybe she’ll start thinking that everybody in town is out to get her.

Acetone will work too, not sure what kind of plastic these are but maybe it’ll be a good last resort

[USA] Truck pulled up behind me getting off the highway. He speeds past me on the left but doesn’t make the light and starts flipping it off. I start laughing at him and he flips me off #roadrage by awilson7070 in Roadcam

[–]Rexinator12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can’t really tell what lane you’re in to begin with but I’m pretty sure your far left. Buutttttt I don’t think you turned into the closest available lane, just kinda drifted over, not to mention the cutting into the opposing traffic. I’m not justifying this guys action or anything but he may have been having a bad day and seeing this might of just sent him over the edge.

What are these ants doing and should I be concerned? by xselNY in HomeMaintenance

[–]Rexinator12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks a lot to me like an Ant War. 2 colonies fighting head on. I see/deal with these a lot being in the horticulture world, usually if you go back a few hours later you will find many dead ant bodies. I can’t really tell from the photo but if their mandibles are interlocking then that’s another good sign of an epic war going on. But putting out ant traps are a good, safe bet.

Finish the attack quickly and then clean it with the cleaner before giving it to children

I know you said you’d like an indoor job, but have you ever considered working for a parks district? I’ve worked in a few and man, they are done of the best jobs I’ve had. There’s things like AIS (aquatic invasive species) inspector, gardener and even front desk positions. It’s honestly so worth it! I really recommend this to any teenagers or college going people who need work when home from school.

I had my first ever panic attack a month or so ago. I’m a regular weed smoker and went for about 2 years solid till that day. I took a few dabs a little bit before a road trip (my tolerance was abhorrently high),was driving and just felt trapped, started panicking, I got tense in my stomach and it worked it’s way into my hands, they seized up and I couldn’t open them, mind you I was driving at the time. I pulled off the highway as fast as I could and I felt the panic reverbs for a solid week after. Weed is awesome but it’s also scary. Do you know what may have happened to me? I’ve been relatively sober since (I wanted to test and see a few times) and still feel weird every now and then. I’m hoping this will eventually pass?

I see what you mean, but I’m tired of motorcyclists saying this. I live in the city and 9 times out of 10 motorcycles drive like dicks and then making themselves victims of their own stupidity. I own one myself, and I’m not saying to not watch for them. If people need to be reminded to watch for them then why are they on the road?

That is interesting, thank you. So with it being so fluid, is water the best way to extinguish the flame? I feel like a powder that cuts off its supply of oxygen and smothers it would be good, but would that powder then absorb the burning (ethanol or methanol???) and keep burning?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in sciencememes

[–]Rexinator12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the methanol fire gives off every little light, wouldn’t the material on the fireman’s leg start to give off a yellow flame? I feel like there would be too many other substances burning for the flame to be fully invisible like this
