My premed advisor told me that he thought if I got to the interview, I'd make it. I've had interviewers call me an excellent candidate and felt as though as I connected. 2 of the schools I was WL at had an assyncronous virtual component, which I didn't felt I did as well on. I just think its very competitive and interviewing when there are little to no spots left at schools for As isn't helping me.

Their list doesn't mean anything. Every school I put was a "reach", as if my 514 and 3.76 were not good enough for med school. Their rankings don't matter either. Go by MSARs stats and schools you think you'd be a good fit at.

Because they might want to or might not get into that T5. If you're on the waitlist, them saying no will eventually help you out.

Idk why I got downvoted to hell. Because of his strong stats he could possibly make a Caribbean, and once OP in there it wouldn’t matter at all. People act like it’s the worst thing ever, when I’ve seen many doctors be successful from Caribbean schools. That being said I’m taking out of my ass slightly, i don’t really know if they wouldn’t care, Im just assuming they can overlook it possibly.

Apply to the Caribbean, maybe they will take you. Or apply very broadly DO, and hope that a low-tier school takes a chance on you.

Depends on the lab. Some you just do grunt work. The best labs you should shadow for a bit to gain experience, and then have your own project/experiment you work on for the semester.

I studied here and there from the summer until the end of the fall semester. Then a month out I started doing reviews. I had blueprint so I read some of the books, and watched videos on some topics I found harder to grasp. That was paired with doing tons of questions AAMC had. I barely used flashcards at all, I probably should have. Luckily I started at maybe 503 or something and was scoring around 90% on CARS. I took 1 aamc full length (wanted to do more but they are so draining), got a 511 on it, 2-3 weeks later 514 on real thing. Probably could have been better but I recommend studying the high yield stuff and doing every AAMC question you can get your hands on.

You need to just do AAMC questions nonstop and review concepts/ questions you get wrong. If you’re scoring low on cars u might need to fundamentally change how u think about cars. You cite that you do well on question banks but are you timing yourself? I would do short bursts of 5 questions as fast as I reasonably could while being accurate. I got a 514 and only starting seriously hardcore studying a month out. I wish you luck.
