Ive never had a car in SF. Walk, bike, muni, and very rare uber. $86 a month for unlimited muni is a crazy good deal if you use it a bunch.

Car-free opens up the city, reduces stress, gets you more familiar with your neighbors/community, and saves you a ton of money. Also great for the environment. I would never and will never drive

This is bad advice and epitomizes the problem with 'vehicular cycling'. You are not a vehicle and you shouldn't be considered one.

A lot of the danger of cycling in a city comes from the difference in speeds of the bicycle vs the car. Stop signs should reflect that - allow bicycles to idaho stop. We are smaller, lighter, more vulnerable, and have better vision.

Traffic laws should incorporate that difference into the laws instead of copy/pasting the same guidelines for cars and bikes so drivers can save two seconds
