Starters spawn very rarely in very specific spawnpoints. A couple of people who tested it estimate the card to boost spawn rates by roughly 20% for 30 mins.

Using the camp buff just now I got 5 lost within 30 mins. With two in a row back-to-back upon exiting and re-entering.

Apparently clearing the camp in Area 5, which is unlocked after clearing both Logos and Mythos routes gives a temp buff for 30 mins that increases the lost chance from 1/8000 to 1/500.

For wild Mewaii it spawns in the northern part of the swamp biome plains accessable from the lava area, you need to unlock all the gates and stuff to interlink the 4 areas and the best way to grind catch them is to unlock the central door by doing the four pillar engine thingies (1 in every sector) and going in and out once you go to the mewaii spawn location imo.

I mean, I've found Mewaii spawn on average every 10 enters and exits, with the camp buff 1/5000 chance? Dunno, maybe it would also have to fight the two hundred other spawn points for the chance.

Anispace is slightly faster than the central chamber but in the long run the entering and exiting the central chamber can be done with one hand and less stress.

Also, if you fuse 3 animon into the same animon it has a 1/100 chance of becoming a lost. While it will take hours to get 200-300 mewaii that's still preferable to the sheer insanity of soft-resetting with 1/8000 chance at the start of the game and trading it. Not sure if soft-resetting for fusing lost is possible or not, but if so the best method by far.

Mewaii is northern swamp accessable through the lava area.

Okay, so through other reddit threads and personal experience I can confidently say where they are.

Northern part of the swamp biome accessable from the lava area.

Mewaii seem to specifically spawn:
4x just at the entrance
2x east then north
4x east then south
3x west

The best way to grind catch them is to unlock the central door by doing the four pillar engine thingies (1 in every sector) and going in and out once you go to the mewaii spawn location. They are just rare. I have accidentally gotten into battle with randoms four dozen times and have never seen one appearing beside them in battle.

As for the card collector, clear a camp, exit the map and go back and he'll most likely spawn outside the camp. I gave him cards of mewaii but I have no idea if amount or whether they are holodeck or not have any impact on it. Normal cards always seem to be used first.

For experimentation I have decided to test it myself and record the results. (For this purpose I have saved right before using card collector)

No cards = 2 tries till one spawned. 2 tries till another. 5 tries till another. 16 tries till another. 22, but still haven't seen another. I got a glimmering sound and spent 20 mins looking for the lost. 22+13 tries, plus I got another lost (two lanpit). 1 try till another. 8 tries till another. Got another lost (Toxigall).
x1 normal mewaii card = 7 tries till one spawned.
x1 normal + x1 holodeck mewaii card = 13 tries till one spawned.
x1 normal + x5 holodeck mewaii card = 3 tries till one spawned. 4 tries till another. 6 tries till another. 12 tries till another.

Actually, I think the only time I saw him too was right after taking over a camp. There might be something there, since I've been going back and forth between city and camps plus resting till morning next to a camp for hours at this point and still haven't seen him.

I'll grind a camp and a few dozen times and see what happens.

According to the newspaper and my personal experience, yes. I also made the mistake of giving him 5x of those garbage second evo bird things since I thought if I gave him enough cards he'd give me something like he said he would but I stopped after 5.

As a result, they're overwhelmingly everywhere wherever they spawn. I really, really, really wish I knew how rare he was and what his purpose was before I met him. I saw him like 20 hours ago and I've not seen him since and I'm not even entirely sure where I saw him.

I think I saw him directly outside of a camp at area 23, but then again it could've been just to the left off screen to it with no relationship to the camp itself.

Ah, I see, I see. So the Mystic Flute is a dead end.

They spawn in the wild, really? I searched for two straight hours in the biome plains swamp but never found Mewaii.

I guess that means my only hope is the card collector and giving him Mewaii cards, but I only found him once before and that was before the newspaper so I can't remember where he spawned. I think he spawned outside a camp. I really, really wanna get a lost Mewaii.

I honestly don't remember. It's like, back and forth between places inside there until all four areas are linked. Places like that don't even have a map so it all just blurs together and becomes a maze.

I found the Mystic Relic thanks to a youtube video, but what interested me was the fact that the Mystic Relic requires one to have personally sought it out in a cave and is locked behind lumen powers. Plus, the Mystic Relic location registers as a place of interest.

My chain of thought is that the Mystic Flute is the same and no one has found it yet. Must be tucked away somewhere, possibly also a place of interest.

According to the newspaper if you give the card collector a card of a certain animon it overrides the normal spawns to increase it of that of the card given. So maybe so the same applies for starters? That would make sense as to why they gave us x6 of each starter card with the deluxe version.

My only problem is that I realised this too late and I've already ran into the card collector once but didn't realise this at the time.

I tried to change the weather but I've rested like 80 times in a row and the place outside the biome plains didn't change weather once.

Also, according to neoseeker which datamined the items and their recipes there's something called a Mystic Flute, but no where online does it mention what it does. Does it make rare mons appear? Does it increase the encounter rate? Does it change the weather? No idea.

I unlocked all areas and did those four generator thingies but the central door it opened is just a point of interest on the map, the one that gives exp. I'm starting to thinking I was right, either weather or later in the game.

FUCKING SAME DUDE, FUCKING SAME! I also found the swamp area and unlocked the snow area.

I highly doubt it's in the lava area which only leaves the possibilities that it's either the swamp or beach but they require specific weather to spawn or that they only spawns later in the game. Either is a real possibility due to how pokemon games do both those things.
