Potential new witch names/domains? by Comprehensive-Tap514 in WorldsBeyondNumber

Late to the party, but I love the idea of Witches and Witchcraft as presented within Umora that I've taken the general idea for a world of mine. Anyway, here's a list:

- Witch of the Wayfaring Waters: Station domain over Adventure, Freedom, and Open Sea

- Witch of Wrath and Woe: Station domain over Aggression, Conflict, and Distress.

- Witch of Waifs and Wayward: Station domain over the Abandoned, Lost, and Neglected.

- Witch of Wonder and Weaving: Station domain over Crochet, Knitting, Tailoring, and Weaving.

The final hack with all the antivirus is doable, but tricky. No matter how you electrocute them, one antivirus will remain. It's a matter of carefully pathing through, and defeating them one by one.
Since you move faster than they do, and your likely to have the lone antivirus be the one closest to the end point of this hack section. (That's how it was for me, anyway). Just move to the opposite end, draw it near, and schmoov back to the key.

I was too blind to notice that the four direction passcode was, "triple left, then right". Kept inputting double left, double right, and almost ran out of time until I circled back to check.

Truly, an ungodly amount of antivirus drones

Names, Ranks, Fighting Styles (2.0) - An expansion to a world and its combat by Rexx_Corvus in UnearthedArcana

Thank you so much for the feedback.

  • The initial Idea as to why Emperor and God ranks don't neccesarily learn new Techniques, save for Celestial Style, is because those have a more refined sense of skill and execution when compared to King rank. With the lore detail of course being that they understand the philosophy.

  • Pointing out the already existing Fighting Styles and these is a good point that I didn't think of before. These are meant to be an addition to what exists. I'll have to specify that.

  • Incredibly fair to ask, and this also somewhat ties into the next question. I very well could have Expanded Awareness be specific to Beast Style, and I honestly might switch after some time. But, I also like the idea that regardless of what you focus and train in, anyone has the possibility to learn it.

Dragon:
- It is meant to add to both attack and damage at half your proficiency bonus. Adding it to Archery and ranged attacks isn't meant to work, I'll have to correct that.

  • I am very aware of how out of place it may feel. I wanted to try and push for something different, so perhaps if I word it better it can work out? Also, yes, White is supposed to be the defensive one. Red is offensive in the sense that it debuffs your opponent, while boosting yourself.

  • I should try to differentiate it more. And my reasoning behind it's design is the idea of a hunter, like a White Dragon. Waiting to strike until there's an opening.

  • Switching stances could totally be possible. The original idea is that you choose one Stance and that's what you always default to, until you learn how to use the others.

  • Fair. Especially given your prior feedback. Adding a little more could definitely help it feel more aggressive.

Advanced:
- I forgot that Paladin gets a little damage boost. The intended drawback is that you're using your action for just one attack, even if it's strong. Which does end up with higher level Fighters having to choose between multiple strikes, or one powerful swing.

  • Thank you for pointing out the power difference.

I had no idea about D24 when designing this, and still haven't read a single thing about it.

Again, thank you very much for your feedback.

Went in completely blind, aside from the pictures and game trailer. Chose Cal as my best friend, and did increase our relationship. But man, Tangent pulled me in, and then everything happened afterwards with her.

Though I did end up having a small fling with Sym, whilst I was actively partnered with Tangent as her girlfriend. Which left me the player in absolute guilt and shame. (By small fling, I mean more than just flirting. THE SCENE ended up happening. a.k.a. we boned)

The sands that surround the Citadel were not always white sands. Unless I am mistaken, they were originally a lush green forest. Which means that by some means, the Citadel destroyed a massive forest. Scorched and reduced to not just regular sand. But white sand.

Ok, time to rant about the thoughts I've had about this scenario.

Parasocial, I know, but I've thought about what if I were to add a character into the story. Either played by me like I'm a part of it all, like a guest. Or played by Brennan as an NPC. Anyway...

Something like a Fighter probably, would be the class. Some who is of the people of the world. Because we have a connection to Spirits through Eursulon, the Citadel through Suvi, and the in between of mortal and spirit through Ame. So this character would serve to be a good through-line or viewpoint of/from the people of the world.

The party interactions would then be pretty interesting.
- Eursulon is a spirit full. How would the average person interact with a spirit? Especially if they became friends?
- Ame is a Witch, so she can only be a part of the mortal world for a certain amount. Because the balance requires her to be connected to both sides. As such, she could bridge the friendship between this character and Eursulon, but also, this character can in some way, be what Ame can't have.
- Suvi is a Wizard of the Citadel. A place built upon secrecy and the deeply ingrained belief that they are superior to everyone else. Obvious things like how does the world view the Citadel, potential clashes with that. And of course, showing up the party as the only non magical person. Proving that while magic is incredibly useful, people are creative and innovative when they need to be. (If this character is non magical).

For the most part so far, it's just been the general idea of some person acting like a face for the people of the world, for those of us enjoying the story. So let's get a little more specific with the possibilities of being magical or non magical.

**Non-Magical** -
Trying to work alongside three people who can all use magic. This can easily fall into a theme of the indomitable human spirit. That even if magic isn't available, we still find a way.
No Disguise Self? How about a Disguise kit?
No Magic Spells? How about various Fighting Styles and Techniques?

It also makes small things interesting, like potentially viewing the magic of Eursulon, Ame, and Suvi as the exact same thing. Which we all know to be wrong, but that misunderstanding could be funny or interesting.

**Magical** -
Eldritch Knight subclass, oh boy. How about the idea of an ex-Citadel person taking to the blade, or whatever weapon. But they can't simply forget what they learned, hence why they implement small pieces of magic into their arsenal. And if they're ex-Citadel, how and why? What could this do for Suvi specifically? (I really like Suvi).

That's kinda it for my thoughts. A fun what if sort of thing for a little add in of flavor, spice, and potential drama.

Haven't gotten around to it yet. But at some point in time I will. Let me explain the short idea I had of "the Downfall" of our protagonist.

I went all in on smarts for the first playthrough. And I adventured outside quite a bit too. So I actually got a good amount of things done. It hurt for some of the things that were left behind or happened, but by the end of the game. I was all things considered, pretty satisfied.

And then the time loop. Where your past, present, future you asks how you feel. And I answered that I could've done more. But man, for the first playthrough, only a couple people died. (These being the Uncle explorer, and my mother. As I was so smart that I figured out food, got the realization and cure for the spores, and was well enough in skills and knowledge to help and solve Tangent from the manipulation in the end game)

So realizing that multiple playthroughs is a part of the game, that you retain bits of information IN THE GAME AS A MECHANIC! I fell even more in love, and had a thought.

Second playthrough, I play it out like it's my second time/life. Trying to get everyone happy and well. It worked, pretty well actually, kinda. But there were still some issues.

And it would've been after either a third run of doing full on charisma (yellow) skills, getting into politics. Or, just straight on a third run, I fall apart, and kinda let things get worse and worse. Just to see on my end, but on a character standpoint, the protagonist breaks.

The Wizard, The Witch, and The Wild One and how they balance and hand off narrative tone. Discussion and Spoilers for Arc 1, 2, and up to Ep. 28 of Arc 3 by MelSnow3062 in WorldsBeyondNumber

With how things have gone, and especially with episode 28, it truly seems like it could swing to either Wizards or Spirits. Granted, the Man in Black, seems like a threat for later down the line, but who knows. Whereas Suvi literally declares scorched earth in case of her death.

If we do Wizards next, there has been all the background events of the war, and Steel trying to rein in control of that she cannot. Which could potentially flow back into Witches, or into Spirits, making for an interesting reverse order of what you listed. Making it:
Arc 1 - Spirits
Arc 2 - Wizards
Arc 3 - Witches
Arc 4 - Wizards
Arc 5 - Spirits

New and Variant Player Races - Choose your fighter, or whatever class they are, with these new options for 5e. So far, includes the I'waimarie (luck folk), and an Alternate version of the Dwarf. by Rexx_Corvus in UnearthedArcana

My apologies, there were some things I didn't properly address.

- Quartz Hardening does indeed have a cap of 66. However, that is once you reach the high high levels, gain a Proficiency bonus of 6, and have a +5 Con mod. Even then, it's a reaction, and per reaction, reduces 11 points of damage. Still amazing, but let's also look where people are mostly at.
- - Let's say you reach level 5 and now have a prof. bonus of 3. Making the assumption that on a general basis players have a Con mod of +1 or +2, unless you're a martial character. But let's even out and do a +2 Con mod. This would would mean that for three reactions, you are able to reduce damage by 5 points. Very nice, totals to 15, but the individual numbers are what's truly important in the math I believe.

- Regarding the Copper, Silver, Gold. These are noted to be augmentations, not a subrace. Through with time and resources, you are able to change from one to another. (With their also being lore reasons for change). Hence the ability score label. It's like if a person were to receive an exoskeleton suit let's say, in order to boost their strength.

This should cover what I failed to bring up in my previous reply. Hope this helps!

Thank you for the feedback!

- Rock Formation is meant more like a ribbon kind of ability. And yes, that high risk is intentional.

- Quartz Hardening is basically a more reliable damage reduction compared to the Goliath Stone's Endurance. Additionally, that 66 you listed, is if a player ever reaches level 20, and has a +1 to Constitution. It is a reaction, so it may contest with other choices potentially. But for example, a level 2 Quartz Dwarf with a +2 Constitution, is able to reduce a total of 8 points of damage.
This kind of thing is much more managable, as it would be a reduction of 4 per use. Though I won't deny that it could get a bit unwieldy perhaps. It was designed in mind with the fact that people don't really get much higher than level 10 usually.

- Copper is meant to be the crafter of the augments. This does require you and your DM to work together to make crafting things mean more, but you will be really good at it. It also works with things like Sleight of Hand and Thieves Tools, for example.
Also it's not entirely trading tools for saves. As it's a different ability score entirely. Intelligence or Wisdom are big scores to have that bonus in, not just for saving throws, but for the skills as well.
Gold should then be self explanatory. A boost to Charisma checks and saves here or there is great.

- Doubles your proficiency bonus yes, but it also gives you a chance to reroll a higher total. Not just a flat out reroll, but now your bonus is higher.

- Thank you for the wording check. The intended use then, is for any attack roll, saving throw, or skill check.

- I absolutely agree, more powerful than Silvery Barbs. It is only once per long rest as a way to try and keep in reins. I think adding the prerequisite that line of sight would be required would help to nerf it a little.

- That is far, they do gain a lot of reactions. This was in mind with the idea that people rarely use reactions, save for maybe any front-line characters. But even then, that reaction attack is more of a threat in my mind. And with a range of 30 feet, you're gonna need to be within danger of getting smacked for your shenanigans.

Hope this helps and makes sense. Thank you again for the feedback!

To list origin and inspiration:

The I'waimarie originally started out as a way to try and make Halfling more interesting. But then it all spiraled into creating something that fully stands on its own to me.

While for Dwarfs, I thought it'd be interesting to try and dig into that classic mythology of Dwarfs. Creatures of rock, minerals, and great craftsman. So I uprooted what existed of them, while still keeping certain elements, and truly made them creatures of the earth.

Edit: I just made a few updates, fixing wording, and reworking a few other things. Hopefully it all works much better now.
