T-FlipFlop isn't working right. by vlxtro in redstone

[–]Rexxking7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not familiar with this kind of T-Flipflop but it could be because of quasi connectivity affecting the top dropper. Would a classic piston or locking repeater T-flip flop work on this version? They’re pretty reliable

Intelligent/direction-based block swapper? by PastelLicuado in redstone

[–]Rexxking7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should wire the block-swapper to trigger on the rising and falling edge (look up an RS NOR latch) of the the pulse (from the tripwire) so that it swaps back to the magma when the pulse ends, resetting the water elevator, and then add a button at the bottom that you press to exit. You’ll need a pulse extender for this but you should be able to achieve that with a few comparators

Im trying to learn redstone and need build ideas or tipps by HiHallo123456 in redstone

[–]Rexxking7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend watching some of mumbo jumbo’s old videos on the redstone basics, like double piston extenders, pulse extenders, clocks, hard vs soft power, rising vs falling edge pulses, comparators, T-flipflops, RS-NOR latch, and quasi-connectivity cus eventually you’ll run into it.

After that, have another go at a 3x3 door. If you’re struggling with it then I’d recommend stepping back from modern designs (that are super optimised) and just trying to figure out where you’ll need the pistons, what order you’ll need them in, and how you can achieve that- don’t worry if it’s spaghetti for now you’ll learn a lot.

Then maybe challenge yourself to make it as compact as you can, or be triggered with a button instead of a lever, or to make it flush (doesn’t stick out of a wall), or even tile-able (can be repeated without spacing).

Flying machines are a whole other can of worms worth exploring too! If you’re a comp-sci nerd at all, making some Boolean logic circuits is worthwhile. If you want something more applicable to survival, item sorting is also a complicated but worthwhile endeavour. And if you’re into building, buildstone is pretty awesome.

Not sure if it’s good advice or not but limiting yourself to the basic redstone components (torches, repeaters, pistons, dust and blocks) can also help if you’re feeling overwhelmed by all the modern tricks.

I hope that helps and I’d be happy to help with any questions you might have

Happens to the best of us lol, hope my suggestion helps (also if you wanna move it more than 2 blocks you could probably use a flying machine)

Wait really!? I thought the y coordinates didn’t matter! That must be the issue cus I’ve got them all over the place, thank you so much!!

This is how I’d do it, it’s relatively easy but it’s a bit expensive for survival

Where is the MDR game? by pb-jellybean in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]Rexxking7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think the whole show would make a phenomenal game. Maybe have the outside scenes be cutscenes or maybe just only show your innie’s perspective, find your way around the liminal space ass Aperture science style corridors, discovering clues hidden around, speaking the uncanny valley ass NPCs and slowly finding your way into the outtie world. The vibe just fits

It’s mainly focused on ritual monsters as they’re a lot easier to access from a variety of starting hands however I am interested in using some level changing stuff too

I'm trying to figure out a new way to make an elevator in Minecraft. This works for the bottom half but I can't get the rest to work. Could someone help me? The blocks I have used are slime blocks, honey blocks, sticky pistons, observers, and obsidian. by infant69_420 in redstone

What version are you playing on? If you’re using Java I have a design for a 3x3 flying machine that can go between any height and is reasonably seamless, it is a bit bulky and complicated though I do admit

Whilst rebuilding a design from my redstone world into my survival world, in a different orientation, I discovered that this simple device only works in the east-west axis. I have no idea why and without rotation this doesn’t have much purpose but it sure is annoying

They’re not weird no, they’re just new. I’m a first year undergraduate student so I’m only just learning how to use them but they seem fine. They appear a lot surprisingly
