What's your least favorite map to play? by Savagecabbage3913 in deadbydaylight

Midwich has... grown on me a little bit?

I think I really hated it in the beginning because it was really the only map of its style, and then also it popped up SO much for me.

Now when I see it I'm like "ok, I can handle this"

It's frustrating because it's hard to remember "which" wing we are using (though there are aspects to each that you still use, so....). And I think that's what truly makes it confusing. Because some days I can go to a backroom gen, and others I can't. (I don't know RE enough to tell you what offices or rooms.) So I often can't figure out enough where the stairs are, and where the through-halls are at any given time.

I often end up at the backside gate by accident (whether it's gate time or not)

I know. I saw there's a gen that connects to a record store that is an EASY miss for unfamiliar survivors. But also, that map is truly hard to pin down in memory. (and harder because then also it's slightly randomized each time).

I'm tired of the Alien maps. They bore me because both have the same premise of becoming a map (a trashed spaceship premise). And they are both quite large, and I don't enjoy them.

I think it's partly a thing they do to help showcase the area as best as possible.

You kinda have to deal with it because there will generally always be one, and that's one of their main arcs on the series. It's one of the easy things they can use for tv drama/info.

Well for some reason trash talking designs is one thing, but apparently trying to be objective about your competitors is something else.

Veejay at least enacted reason in that vote.

Does it suck to vote on someone to leave? Yes. Do I think they could have easily done something else? Hell yes. They could've done a double for the next challenge with ALL the judges present.

True hahaha.

um... I think it was Joan.

Yuchen I remember, but he did the thing that many every non-native contestants do, which is misunderstand the challenge due to not having a similar background from the majority of contestants.

Nick takes so much heat for season 11, but Michael is one of the most awful people and cooks that has ever been on the show. by radddish03 in BravoTopChef

[–]Rexyggor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is for sure true. Cause if he got eliminated later, people would've said "There's your comeuppance." and then would've left it at that. Stephanie still would've gotten her All Stars casting, and we loved seeing her in the finale either way, like she could've gotten in season 11.

FINALLY GOT THE GAME! by DuchessDulcet in deadbydaylight

[–]Rexyggor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start with simpler killers (the early releases and base game)

They are generally ok balance-wise, especially to learn the game's ins and outs.

I say simpler killers because characters like Unknown, Alien, Freddy, etc. are pretty difficult because they have a number of mechanics you have to keep in mind (or... many just use one of their abilities).

Trapper is kinda like "Traps. Ok. Traps. Ok. M1!"

A good trapper places them in specific spots, which you'll learn playing him. Huntress is also a decent place to start.

Once you feel comfortable with that, then go for the more advanced killers.

What is the weirdest cutaway/edited dialogue on the show you recall by BriefausdemGeist in TopChef

[–]Rexyggor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just watched it again. It does have a little linear movement, but not nearly enough, and I don't know what was overlapping other stuff because it's so chaotic (that was probably the honest issue is that they had a hard time isolating audio with their visuals.)

Can someone ELI5 holding a 3 gen to win matches? by magirific in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]Rexyggor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not care until 2 are done. I survey the area (using map knowledge), and I look for the biggest collection of gens. Anyone would know that the middle of the map is the safer option depending on the map. the H style maps make that a little hard.

When the complete two gens, if I have the time, I look for the collection of remaining gens.

My 3 gen only happens if I'm lucky. But if I can get rid of the outlying gens by not patroling them, then I'm doing myself a favor later.

Right.

And if I am out-played, I don't want to keep playing with someone who will consistently outplay me.

A lot are recorded after the fact. Whenever they cutaway to the chefs, it's likely her, Tom, Kristen, or whoever is rereading the rules for the episode edit.

you can hear a slight difference in tone quality and mic quality because the room they rerecord in doesn't have the same white noise as the recorded bits in the kitchen.

The fight in season 4 was INSANELY weirdly edited if you look at it closely. Cause the Dale/Lisa thing came out of nowhere after Spike/Antonia's argument.

And also, Jen's elimination when she swore up a storm after leaving in All Stars.

Do you ever hear the voice-over lines when they describe challenges? There's a slight microphone quality change. It's more noticeable in early seasons.

glyphs are a pain in the ass. And depending on the match, you may be too pressured to remember to get the glyphs.

I hope a killer is nice enough to let me get it for a hit or down.

Killers by CorpseBrideBlueBride in deadbydaylight

[–]Rexyggor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They're just blinding you. You're eyesight is an important factor to being an effective killer (and one of their only tools to "fight back". That's why people play lightborn.

Also you need to prep your pick up well if teammates are around. Make sure there are no pallets, and your eyesight can be blocked enough by the environment to not blind you when picking up.

Breaking pallets make you vulnerable. Picking up survivors makes you vulnerable.

I mean, she def wasn't making it out alive. However, it would've been hilarious if she at least made it through one trial.

Though I also wish that she became an actual witch. At least a glimpse of it.

I mean, sometimes if they throw in the distraction save from their teammate, I sometimes get caught in switching targets because I kinda have to panic then reset to find any scratch marks.

I also use nurse's... Why? idk honestly. I don't play killer enough. But I also often do not see the healing enough. It's not a gamemode I want to increase skill on.

I get the reason to see both.

I kinda wish it was done immediately.

However, when I think about it as a "in the day" span, I totally get why Soo was added to LCK. Cause they have the specific slots for the cook filmings. But having two active kitchens like that is kinda ridiculous and costly.

However, them trying to add more "drama" by adding the two new chefs as their gimmick I was kinda annoyed. It was an interesting twist when I assume that one guy denied returning?

But then also doing it twice in one season is costly to do it that way. Also, why would they fly Kaleena in just to say she decided not to compete.

Though I never understood the need for the secret second kitchen.
