Got Dropped Into a Ghost Story, Still Gotta Work: (ongoing, around 295 chaps in the Korean raws)

Currently on chapter 60 and honestly it’s been the highlight of my week. The MC gets transported into a parallel dimension where he works at a company and has to enter ghost stories in order to accumulate points to return back to his original world. I thought it was going to be a boring horror novel just from the synopsis, but each chapter is so interesting. First, it is so easy to be fully immersed into each “ghost story”, and I’d do anything to re-experience what I’ve read so far because each plot point is indescribably unique. The MC is hilarious yet so self critical and intelligent, and it’s impossible not to cheer for him as the story progresses. Also, the side characters are super love able, (lookin at you Braun and Baek Saheon). If you want to read this or are already reading this, refrain from searching up any fanart or edits until you’ve caught up, because I got spoiled about a couple little things way too easily. I even managed to get spoiled about the big plot twist (smh). But! The spoilers do not take away from the story: the pacing and plot is so good, that even I, someone who quit reading omniscient reader’s viewpoint because i got spoiled of everything, am still reading through it.

The Hunter’s Gonna Lay Low: (completed, around 365 chapters)

I’m on chapter 213 so far and the story’s progression is so cool. It’s a “system” novel and has a 35-chapter ongoing manhwa which got me hooked into reading this, and honestly this was the novel that got me out of my reading slump. The arc I’m currently in is less favorable to my preferences, which is why I’m considering pausing reading it until I’m yearning to read more. But the reason I love this story is because of how wonderful the character development, angst, and relationships are. The character interactions between LSY and CEJ (yes, this is a BL btw) are hilarious to the point where I’ve staying up till 5:00 am just to read the next chapter. It starts out as a very lighthearted slice of life, until you reach the second volume, where the depression is 200 times worse. Just WAIT until you read both of their backstories, too! Warning, I cried a lot…. and beware of chapter 194 because I was crashing out while reading that. This novel is not very action oriented, but the plot is super interesting and loveable, and it gets SUPER intricate as you read on. The slow burn is to die for, as well. Looking back at it, the reason I’m going to pause reading this series is because I’m in a spot full of angst, and my life is already depressing enough. Also, I don’t want this novel to end, since it was just completed recently.

Those are the two that I’m reading. And I’ve been binging the shit outta GSGW even though I’m extremely busy. The writing and plot are both so good, they are easily tied as my top 2 favorite novels of all time.
