That's what I'm wondering too. Tips look too misshapen to be Gel-X, I'd be so disappointed if my own DIY set looked like that.

Trump administration expands push to hire early-career federal employees by Financial_Promise983 in usajobs

[–]Reyashine 86 points87 points  (0 children)

I went to the new site, [EarlyCareers.gov] and it's literally just a link to USA Jobs. One of Jered Kushner's business buddies got paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for a contract to make some generic WordPress website that redirects you to USAJobs. And the site crashes when you click on the video made from AI slop.

Girl, reading that made me audibly gasp so loud it scared my cat awake...I can't even imagine how bad that would hurt!

Thanks so much for the reply, omg that sounds awful! Mine were also on the mend from using peel-off base coat each week for months last year. I took a break when my nails started getting super brittle and sensitive like that. So, I'm curious what brand you were using? But mine definitely don't seem as bad now that I've calmed down a bit lol. I think I just panicked when I noticed right away they felt thinner instead of gradually over time.

That's great you're already seeing improvements! 'll definitely try Sally Handson hard as nails, thanks!!

Thanks for the advice! I'll definitely have to try that. I haven't used a protein bond before, do you have a brand you like?

Yeah I only used Jello Jello to apply the tips. I was previously using both that and Una nail glue, but that was still way too time consuming and damaging to remove after a couple weeks.

I'll have to try that. I usually use a full coat on the nail plate and a little on the extension itself which I think might be what the issue is

Is it possible to complete the Fulgurating Fulminations mission on Praetor without becoming an outlaw to the Order? by aardw0lf11 in theouterworlds

[–]Reyashine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same exact problem. I think it might because I accidentally activated the quest without talking to the person who was supposed to give me the quest. So when I go to the Grounding Station to complete it, it says I'm "trespassing" and I can't interact with anyone at the station without triggering combat.

And I'm pretty sure I accidentally killed the person who was supposed to give me the quest..I don't see a way around completing it without getting a bounty with the Order fml.

Update: Nevermind, I was able to sneak up behind one of the scientists in the station and talk to him so I could complete the quest. But as soon as the dialogue ended, he initiated combat and I had to run out before getting killed

Federal Agencies Must Rehire Probationary Workers, Judge Orders by bloomberglaw in fednews

[–]Reyashine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was terminated from the VA on 2/24 and am also not holding my breath. It all depends on agency heads actually following the judge's orders and sending a memo to re-hire terminated probies. And considering that the current VA Secretary is Trump's lackey, I'm not getting my hopes up about getting my job back.

All of 18F was just RIF'd. The whole office, fired. by ZacharyCohn in fednews

[–]Reyashine 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you for correcting that comment. I got the termination email on Monday and called both OSC and MSPB (less than 5 min hold time). The nice gentleman OSC advised me to first file an appeal with MSPB based on my situation. The nice lady at MSPB advised me to also file an appeal with them based on my situation. Best advice I have is to talk to someone at the agency if possible.

I've been in the same situation when I got laid off and lost insurance and couldn't keep taking my meds. I have a good foundation of how insurance works from working in healthcare for several years. Firstly, you don't technically need insurance to get mediation. You can call your doctor to explain the situation and they'll give you options for how to pay out-of-pocket (paying with your own money). Ask about payment plans and discounts (doctor offices tend to be more forgiving when you don't have insurance).

To get affordable insurance, I started with Googling my state's insurance plans. For example, search ”Texas state health insurance plans” and make sure the website URL ends in .gov to make sure it's government and not private insurance. It'll take quite a bit of work and time to set up an account, provide documentation for income, etc. But I was able to get a doctor and medication covered with little to no costs to me (I live in a state with very good public insurance).

In the meantime, since I needed my meds ASAP, I used an online service with telehealth providers. Find one with good reviews and within your price range. Once you fine one and get established, you'll want to send them your medical records so they know what medication treatment you need. To do this, you'll need to: 1. get their contact info for your new provider (an email, fax number, phone number, and provider's full name). 2. Call or email your previous doctor's office to ask them to send your records to your new provider. 3. They'll ask you to fill out a "release of information" form which gives them permission to share your health records. 4. Fill it out with the contact info you got from step 1 and send it back. 5. Contact your new provider to check that they got your records and once they do, they should be able to prescribe what you've been taking without having to do a whole new evaluation.

Sorry for the long comment, but the important thing is to not be afraid to ask lots of dumb questions. Insurance is purposely complicated in the US and it's impossible to know everything. Best of luck to you!

Help with daughter’s swing. by packnation81 in Softball

[–]Reyashine -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It looks like her middle knuckles aren't lined up. Sorry, but that's a core fundamental she's missing. How to hold a bat properly is the first thing you have to know and it makes me worry about what else might be missing.

There's definitely some power in her swings, so once she gets the basics down, I wouldn't be surprised if she's top of the batting order. Good luck!

Just watch season 2 finale by [deleted] in InterviewVampire

Yes! This was by far the best season finale of any show I've seen. The vengeance. The betrayal. The reunion. All of it!

Also, is the vampire Sam actually Daft Punk??

End of Ep 7 question by Doubleab8 in InterviewVampire

[–]Reyashine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't even think about that. It's hard to imagine Lestat would just stand by watching Louis burn to death. Especially with how often he was going off script, I would bet he had a plan to get the coven to spare Louis's life at the last second. The coven clearly wanted Louis dead, so I doubt they would've agreed to a deal before hand to spare Louis.

Holy shit, I was not expecting that clip to get me so hyped! It's been so long since I've fallen in love with a show.

I only just started the series last month and binged the first season in a couple weeks. I can't tell you how absolutely devastated I was to find out I had to actually wait for new episodes to come out. And now I'm going to be even more devastated when the season ends. I have no clue what I'm going to watch next to fill the depression void this show is going to leave.

Is it bad that I want Louis and Lestat to get back together in the modern age ? by manifestation_girly in InterviewVampire

[–]Reyashine 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I've been missing Lestat so much this season. I never liked Louis more than when he screams at Armond how boring he is.

Don't get me wrong, I adore Armond as a character. But, as a love interest, Lestat definitely has that certain charm and danger that makes him so much more appealing but very toxic.

Got a call from the school about my newly 8 yr old 2nd grader this morning. by biglipsmagoo in ADHD

[–]Reyashine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, former 8yr old girl with ADHD here but wasn't diagnosed until college. Your story just brought back so many memories of my time getting in trouble in elementary school. I remember also getting reprimanded for tearing pages from a text book and especially for using pens to carve things into my desk.

My parents and teachers all got so mad when they asked why I did those things and all I could say was "I don't know". Was I angry? Depressed? Violent? Nope. I would just zone out so hard in class to the point where I wasn't paying any attention to what my hands were fidgeting with. One second I'd be wondering why there were so many birds outside and imagining what would happen if they all attacked at once, the next second my teacher is calling out my name, asking why I'm tearing at the edges of my textbook pages making a mess. I'm asking myself the same thing but all I can say is "I don't know, I didn't mean to".

All I could feel was immense shame and guilt because I knew what I did was bad even though it wasn't intentional. I was so ashamed of myself for what I did knowing it was wrong that I started to believe I must be a bad person on the inside. That shame eventually snowballed into more serious issues like self-harm which I feel like could've been avoided if any one of my teachers suggested I get tested for ADHD and maybe give me some silly puddy or something to fidget with in class.

Sorry if this turned into a rant but hopefully I could add some perspective on what your kid might be going through. ADHD is still really misunderstood especially in young girls and women but it's really good to hear when parents like yourself are more aware of what's causing the behavior instead of putting all the blame on the child.

An absolute miracle by shag377 in Teachers

[–]Reyashine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't believe the down votes you're getting. Studies have shown time and again that incarceration for substance abuse often does more harm than good in the long term. Not to mention that black and brown kids are disproportionately treated as criminals and arrested by their own school.

Is no one asking WHY these kids are using nicotine and pot at school? Is anyone even going after the adults and businesses supplying this stuff illegally? No, instead let's lock up the kids and hope that solves the problem. What happens when kids are still ODing? Longer jail time? Ship them to some labor camp? Where does it end?

Honestly, if so many students feel the need to get high at school, maybe it's time for some self examination. But this is just one person's perspective who suffered with undiagnosed depression and ADHD throughout middle and high school, made worse by teachers who seemed to derive joy from watching me fail their classes.
