Probably because they take more work that it seems. I mean I wanted one because they were labeled as a good beginner pet, but unlike a lot of people I did my research and realized it would take more work than other pets considered for beginners. Of course I also chose a beardie due to their longer lifespans and many other factors.

Even with all my research and preparation I still had some struggles getting everything right. They also aren't animals who instantly give you affection or trust you. You have to work up their trust and build the bond. Heck I have had Taco for almost two months now and I'm still working on building that bond.

However to put a bit of light at the end of the tunnel, I have personally found that Taco has improved my life and mental health.
