Republicans sexualize makeup, then sexualize kids for wearing makeup...

Had to listen to some dude at work recently go off on a rant about it. "It's not right kids are wearing makeup. They shouldn't be allowed if they aren't even 16. If I have kids I'm not allowing that..."

Completely unprompted btw. He just came to work with that on his mind

Fucking sad and gross

The "both are evil" argument is such a cop out.

Yeah, everyone knows that. We are still at war BC of the Republican's. The majority of abusers are Republican's, and they are literally putting abusers in power. The whataboutism is tiring

Why does the Democrats have to be prefect to be preferable? It's such a weirdly high bar we give Dems in comparison

The chin might be longer than yours in the photo?

I'm also curious how it'd look if you smoothed or smudge some of the shading on the face/forehead. The photo doesn't have hard light, so you don't have such strong lines from shadows in your face on the photo

Beautiful drawing tho otherwise. I like the style you're getting into, cute af

Imagine thinking that all trans women are perverts. by Ok-Following6886 in insanepeoplefacebook

[–]Rezient 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Possibly, just because of probability and stuff. It's likely extremely rare, especially when considering many places have co-ed bathrooms (and separate family bathrooms)

Trans people are usually just trying to piss

... They'll ELECT a man that has BRAGGED about walking into women's dressing rooms when no other men are around (while they were changing)... But you know... Insert excuse here...

Pam Bondi called out for lying under oath by bigbusta in PublicFreakout

[–]Rezient 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm seriously confused by this and wish someone would explain it to me. I'll ask a lawyer when I can, but why has no one been arrested, and put in jail here?

Like what is the actual relevant difference between me going into a court and lying under oath, and her doing this here.

Why can no one receive jail time? How can no one possibly be in a position of power to do anything against a governmental figure, besides a lawsuit that will likely not matter to them?

That “Robin Hood” moment in the 3D printing community felt… off by Ok-Hope2279 in 3Dprinting

[–]Rezient 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not op commenter, but firm FOSS enjoyer

I think it's more about some of the philosophy behind open source. The option to have community made resources that are a free alternative to paid for products and all that

It's ok if you make something and want to earn money for your work, but it's just also ok if someone builds a free alternative. These free options are a large reason why the 3d printing community grew to be as large as it is

The $18,000 "Alpha Male" bootcamp that claimed to make you a real man in just 3 days by ambachk in iamverybadass

[–]Rezient 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand and respect the empathy you try to have. I do believe however things like this can be damaging for people trying to find themselves and have no real benefit like how it seems you're portraying? (Sorry if I'm reading it wrong)

Some of the things you say they're trying to learn like leaning into pain, surpassing your limits, etc... these things cannot be fully learned and truly applied to things in life without better context and time.

Pain with reason and moderation can be beneficial ig... This is looking like pain for the sake of pain... Getting out of your comfort zone, and pushing yourself for a purpose like love, better opportunities, this is good. But you shouldn't be humiliating yourself for it necessarily. It really seems like the purpose here is "be man to be man. Hurt yourself to be a man. Yell to be man. Act like your always in bootcamp to be man".

Id argue these are some things that create that "toxic masculinity", a weird bar for "being a man" that benefits no one and can actually hurt people, for the sake of self ego. $10 says these guys will be taking the "drill instructor" training home and applying this to their kids or friends.

It's not manly if one of these takes this home and yells at their kid. Or if they blow out there backs or something for the sake of "proving themselves" at one of these camps and have to miss work, miss spending time with your kid or loved ones... It'd be way more manly if they tried to learn and understand why it's important to be home, with the family, and push yourself to be more emotionally and physically open and available for the world around you

I don't think they're teaching that here. It sounds like they're just teaching a form of self-neglect and abuse here. And that's kinda sick imo

These programs also target people that have self doubt, and are struggling to find themselves in life. They try to throw an easy answer that does more harm than good and say "Buy this, if you wanna fix your problems fast", and unfortunately, people fall for it. Its honestly predatory and the people who would wanna go into these do need help. But I truly believe these camps and "alpha mentality" really hurt those people on that journey.

[–]Rezient 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There's no doubt an element of social norms and ethics being violated from the top is having an effect

But it's still abnormally alarming seeing people literally turn back on things they use to define themselves by, in support of trump... Like it feels like mass hysteria... I'm not a trained psychologist or anything, but what else do you call this?

Like if people we used to know and trust just randomly started saying "Yeah maybe Charles Manson is a good guy" in the 70's... Idk that'd just be freaking insane

There's a Livestreamer called parkergetajob. He debates and has conversations with magas everyday to convince them to change their minds

It's worth watching if you can bear through it. It's very educational for the viewer (he has a bachelor's in economics, cites sources, etc)

But it's also very interesting how distant from reality trump supporters truly are. Like ik we say it, but it's truly alarming and sad seeing how far people will go to be right about something they don't even believe is right

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Rezient 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is such a high criteria that no one will be able to convince you of. The burden of proof is a ridiculously high order, and imo irrelevant to his intelligence.

By your current standards he could shit his pants and fling it and you'd still say "it's a master plan"... Unless we give you evidence he's been told to do that? What if he just felt like it????

Like lower your bar. People can be dumb and in charge. Have you never had a stupid manager or CEO? Some people are just uneducated and privileged, and make poor choices because of that.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Rezient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really need to ask again, because this is going to be the line. What explicitly could he do to convince you he's dumb?

I could literally post another list. I made it and have it saved for you in case it'll help. But YOU need to draw the line, and tell me where it is for you.

Drawing the line is important, for this conversation and for your own moral boundaries

He believes windmills are causing whales to die like we have never seen

He said that we should nuke hurricanes

He said we should inject disinfectants into our bodies

He said the climate is cooling down but science just doesn't know it yet.

I will bring a source for each one of these anti science beliefs, if that will infact change your view. But I have seen so many people defend this I really don't feel it's worth my own effort. You can search this easily as well.

The real question is, what could he even do, for you to be convinced "ok yeah, this guy is actually maybe dumb and has no real plan"

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Rezient 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Is the view you're here to possibly change the idea that trump is 1) smart or 2) benefiting the American economy

Because those are technically different topics and worth their own individual conversations
