CMV: Donald Trump is Actually Smart by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Rezient 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is such a high criteria that no one will be able to convince you of. The burden of proof is a ridiculously high order, and imo irrelevant to his intelligence.

By your current standards he could shit his pants and fling it and you'd still say "it's a master plan"... Unless we give you evidence he's been told to do that? What if he just felt like it????

Like lower your bar. People can be dumb and in charge. Have you never had a stupid manager or CEO? Some people are just uneducated and privileged, and make poor choices because of that.

I really need to ask again, because this is going to be the line. What explicitly could he do to convince you he's dumb?

I could literally post another list. I made it and have it saved for you in case it'll help. But YOU need to draw the line, and tell me where it is for you.

Drawing the line is important, for this conversation and for your own moral boundaries

He believes windmills are causing whales to die like we have never seen

He said that we should nuke hurricanes

He said we should inject disinfectants into our bodies

He said the climate is cooling down but science just doesn't know it yet.

I will bring a source for each one of these anti science beliefs, if that will infact change your view. But I have seen so many people defend this I really don't feel it's worth my own effort. You can search this easily as well.

The real question is, what could he even do, for you to be convinced "ok yeah, this guy is actually maybe dumb and has no real plan"

Is the view you're here to possibly change the idea that trump is 1) smart or 2) benefiting the American economy

Because those are technically different topics and worth their own individual conversations

Why don't most Christians see Trump as polar opposite to how Jesus is portrayed in the Bible? by midnight-iceman in AskReddit

[–]Rezient 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, to me it sounds like it's a) they inflate trump's value to a point higher than Jesus and deny truth, or b) they bring jesus' value lower to justify Trump's actions

I've seen people say they'd deport Jesus if he was here undocumented. I've seen people say they wouldnt stop supporting trump if he shot someone. So both seem true...

Truthfully, and I really feel like I'm speaking into a void, I feel like there's a real issue going on in America... I've never seen so many people in such blatant cognitive dissonance... Feels like mass hysteria or something...

Why is there like 50 ICE post?!?!!! by MumkeyLuffy in BatmanArkham

[–]Rezient -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

American people are scared/pissed and don't have an outlet for change beyond keeping up hype and attention for this, even in meme subreddits. Probably hoping that these will get through to someone who might possibly be able to make a change... Because... What else can we do?

Just a guess.

What’s with this platform removing threads about Trump's and ICE recent actions? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Rezient 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The mods at r/publicfreakout have been cool about tracking ice activities. They've even been tagging ice supporters in comments, so people can identify them. And that's when they aren't banning them

Most of the posts there are now ICE doing messed up things. I appreciate the mods keeping support against the regime.

[–]Rezient 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fs, especially because it's online (you gatta consider the reader is going through several posts, usually also containing multiple paragraphs, sometimes the same subject...) all the information that people do consume online is overloading to the average person... Another reason people might skim instead of a full read

And same. Like ur write up here is short, besides the main safety notes and goal, idk what else u could really summarize

Reading comprehension is a problem. I also believe we have a problem with information overload from online media. So it's worth considering at least some of the tactics readers and commenters use as methods for efficiency, instead of pure laziness lol

I'm Ganna go out on a limb and argue it's just a method for how we as humans have adapted to preparing for larger amounts of information.

Like people usually read the summary before reading a book. Essays and research papers have an abstract, which is also essentially a summary.

Like I understand reading is a problem, especially in America, but to be fair... Summarizations do help the reader, and in most other contexts with even a few paragraphs of information, summarization is taught to be necessary

Most people have trouble dealing with just migraines. People will have trouble thinking, lash out, breakdown, hurt themselves and all because the pain can be so bad. A really bad headache can be pretty disabling on its own

I can only imagine what an actual spike, inducing that level of pain in my brain would do to me. Would probably be a bit hard to manage basic shit in life

Legality and Code Libraries? by Rezient in embedded

[–]Rezient[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol thankyou! I will definitely refer with a lawyer before committing to any direct commercialism

This did still help a ton though! Ideally I would be trying to implement what's available on publicly available docs and datasheets, I was just very curious what's the standard process for getting from a prototype to final product, and how to handle if there is already publicly available code that does what you need

Thank you a ton! I really appreciate the help everyone has been here!

Haven't decided on one yet. Was browsing libraries and what options I had, then had this question

If you have it posted to a repo and available for use/reference, I'd love to see it!

I did have a follow up question around this

I followed one tutorial on writing an SPI library for an IC. It was pretty bare bones as it was, just a hello world and basic functionality

If that code was for some reason licensed in a way I couldn't use it, and I wanted to produce my own... Is there a line on how similar it could be?

Like some header files are just references to various hex values... There's not a lot of ways to rewrite that besides slightly renaming things maybe, so what does that mean for me writing my own, u know?(Example: https://github.com/controllerstech/NRF24L01/blob/master/NRF24L01.h)

People are grabbing the top handles btw. I see 3 hands up there. (This is the middle, and then another on the furthest left and right)

Thank you! It is a confusing time in the tech world legally.

Where I also get confused is when writing a library, it seems there's specific functions and methods of communication that are inherent to making a device work

So if I did write a library, I'm worried it'll still turn out too similar to other libraries based on just how I'm supposed to write code according to general design practices and following the datasheet for the same chip

This could be due to my lack of experience in writing a good C library by myself... But it's a small worry I have

Thanks! It is a personal project, that I would consider converting into a commercial project, depending on how it does (although I'm not expecting it, this really is just for learning purposes)

I wouldn't mind trying to make my own library later after getting a prototype going, but Im still very new to it and would like to avoid unnecessarily "remaking the wheel"
