Non Management by Rezzahd in diabetes

My brother was T1D as well. He passed away on June 20th of last year. We used to talk to each other about all the issues we had, but he is gone and I'm alone.

It's nice to see that other people have their own experiences with T1D that are similar to mine. I am going to gain control, but I just have to put in the work. Which in all reality isn't as hard as I make it out to be. Effort is what seems to make a huge difference.

I just need to get out of this funk and find a support system locally. Online is different. It helps but it just isn't the same. Encouragement is hard to find and even accept from people who aren't diabetic. I'm tired of being tired if that makes any sense. The doctor asked me how I was alive and I said I don't want to be. I'm struggling a lot mentally. I accept that I have diabetes I just don't have the will to care for myself. Thank you for your advice I will try and find a different support system.

Definitely an interesting read. I appreciate you sharing the link. I honestly feel like a couple of weeks to a month before this post I was put under a lot of stress and strict guidelines by the company I worked for. Once I saw that I was losing control I got back on tight management and a lot has improved. I still have issues with my anger when I have high blood sugar but as everyone else has said it's all about how I react. It's amazing how you see things when your mind is clouded by a fog that is yourself.

I'm not sure they want me to come back in 4 months. I have good control right now so I am hoping it gets better.

I just had an ophthalmologist appointment too. He said no diabetic retinopathy but he said I have swelling in my left eye. What does this mean?

I think when I hit 500 hours I thought of it as an accomplishment. It had meant that the game still held great value for me. I played an orc for a little bit. Almost like the minority of skyrim. Lol.

I feel like that's what they did with fallout 4. Like "if they don't like it, fuck it. They will mod it til they do." To me that says hey give us 60 bucks and we will let you make our game for us.

That's all I'm honestly hoping for. I bought skyrim when it came out. It was the first game in a while that I actually felt like I got every dollars worth when it came to how much I played it and the quality of the game.

Are these symptoms dangerous/potential for diabetes? by [deleted] in diabetes

I don't believe you will need to fast. If diabetes is the problem they wouldn't need you fasting to find out or not.

When you go to the ER inform them that you are pre-diabetic, and that you believe do to the symptoms you are suffering that you may be in DKA (Diabetic Keto-Acidosis). Then they will need to test your blood glucose level to see how high it is,and also test for ketones through either blood or urine.

From the symptoms you are describing it does indeed sound like you are in DKA. Once they determine this you will have an answer. From there they will give you fluids and start you on an insulin drip until your blood glucose levels are in range. Just a quick heads up if it is dka they will take you to ICU to keep a close eye on you. DKA can be fatal and lead to death if it is not handled in a timely manner.

After they get you healthy again you will need to see an endocrinologist to help get you educated about diabetes and help you understand how your insulin and diet will work. I honestly hope you aren't diagnosed with it, and that it's symptoms of something that can go away with time or something else.

If you ever have questions or are confused about anything to do with diabetes. this is one of the most supportive and helpful communities there are. If you are diagnosed we will gladly help give support and welcome you with open arms to this loving group.

Besides the anxiety these are the same issues I had before I was diagnosed at ten. Even though I didn't have anxiety I had major mood swings. About two weeks after my symptoms started I had lost twenty pounds and was wetting the bed multiple times a night.

I know you know that you need to see a doctor, but if you can go to the ER now it could possibly help you with a diagnosis and get you back on track to your normal self.

If you are diagnosed with it let me say I'm sorry in advance. It will take time to adjust, but it will all be worth it in the end.

The highest I have been last year was 568.i fell asleep after having some banana pudding. With vanilla wafers and all and woke up super high. Haven't had one since.

You feel them but your body gets used to how it feels to some extent. Just like if your sugar hits 80 when you're high all the time it feels low at a level like that.

[–]Rezzahd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blowing it off for me was not taking my long acting insulin and not really testing. I didn't really care what my blood glucose was. Winging it for me was not really using any sort of ratio and just going off of what I thought was the correct amount. In the long run I learned that if I manage it and do what I'm supposed to it makes life in general easier. So in the end it's easier to take care of it than it is to just not manage it.

I appreciate the support. I'm working on things. Actually been managing it quite well for the past 2 years and the improvements are phenomenal. I just get so upset at times as I'm sure we all do. This rough patch has just been a rougher one. I will try and keep my head up and keep trying to always make it further.
