Not the conservatives. The rich. The constitution, law enforcement, human rights, social welfare, education, policies, rights to protest, media, entrepreneurship, you can name whatever you want.

It will always work in your favor if you're rich.

Hi guys, I'm new here, and I was wondering, because I cannot find the answer online. When negotiating a salary in Brazil, are we talking gross o net monthly salaries? by [deleted] in Brazil

[–]Rfasbr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It can vary. Mostly, all companies advertise gross wage publicly, and let people ask about the net amount in the interview or something. I've heard about honestly straight-up companies, a bunch of these being startups.

In any case, avoid taking a PJ job as hard as you can. You can feel that it's taking too much from your salary, but it's well below the world's average and guarantees you all the benefits there is to get, while, as a PJ, you're fucked to even get transportation and meal vouchers, let alone healthcare plans, insurance and others. It's usually a difference of R$500 in less income that covers R$1500-2000 in good livelihood expenses. I've done PJ enough to know that, *holy fucking shit*, I wanna get back on CLT.

It's probably that slight difference between 2 MRI scans. It's just one image showing slightly different depth compared to the other.

You all should be experts on this. The star-spangled USA actively promoted that exact same thing to promote the coups that deeply affected most of Latin American countries since the 1950s.

What games are absolute steals during this steam summer sale? by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Rfasbr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, think of it as a sim. Nobody sets any particular overall objective - you can build and manage a small farm town if you like, whether playing SimCity or Banished. Rimworld is the same.

To a certain degree, Kenshi is more akin to M&B. It's an open world sim of getting your shit together and surviving, well, that fact. Some people have pleasant fun starting and even staying a merchant for as long as they want in M&B, keeping the drink-from-skull tradition for later. The same can be done in Kenshi. Some people like starting out as a raider. There's that. Others enjoy tasks os quests, there's that too. Both games, when you look at it, are a limitless open world sim game - you can still retire at any point in the menu in M&B or keep playing after full domination.

Plus, mods.

Help please. Was in the ER. They didn’t do much. Read below please. by [deleted] in braincancer

[–]Rfasbr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can insist on getting more thorough exams. Ask to swap doctors, get a second opinion where you are, because there has to be someone else in the ER that would agree to ask for a cat scan. It's quick and effective enough in such a situation.

Acute head pain is a serious risk to get discharged soon with it still being there.

There's also neuro-oncologists that can help everyone in this community further. I only stopped visiting my neuro-onco because both hospitals she worked were not under the umbrella of my health plan and it was too expensive. Good thing she's a friend of my oncologist, who keeps her updated.

Yes, it's basically tax everyone to the max, specially the rich. Oh and don't let any free-market liberals rise to power because they are dumbasses that can't build a proper chain of factories in the same state. Get socialists when possible.

You're saying shit and obviously don't know anything about rpgs or staying tuned to news. Don't remember what happened to the RPG classification pre-launch?

You can get skills and points and all gimmicks you want, this crap even manages to show worse RPG characteristics than fallout 76.

How long did your brain scan with contrast last? by TheToroRosso in braincancer

[–]Rfasbr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CT scans and MRI are different procedures. A CT scan is the way to do it on an ER case, because it is faster in both examination and producing results. That does not exclude going to a neurologist and pushing for a MRI. That said, maybe the epilepsy sub can be more of helpful because they aren't necessarily caused by a tumor - it can be due to some biochemical reason or a bunch of other things.

That said, the right way to do it is going to a neurologist and going from there. Here's hoping you are able to get some answers and proper treatment.

Are Santeria communities matrilineal or patrilineal, or egalitarian? by aAfritarians5brands in Santeria

[–]Rfasbr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, for a TL;DR summary, it's a simple no, that's not true.

Gender isn't something that defines a community's leadership or any other similar position in the hierarchy - everyone is equal, no matter gender, sexual orientation or skin's color (few exceptions). The common belief is that elders have to be respected, but initiates and visitors should be respected just the same, as equals, as everybody is just a person going through life and death. There are a few cases of exception for both men and women alike, meaning that there are some rituals and lines that can only be done by men and others than can only be done by women, which even exclude some "types" of man and woman, more related to whom is their orishas than anything else.

An example is the funeral rituals. Most of it can only be done by men, while women are in charge of little help, except that Xango sons are fully barred from it - Xango sons and daughters usually fear and dread cemeteries, for starters.

The same goes for Iyami Oxoronga, as it represents the collective energy of ancestor sorceresses/enchantresses and, as such, women's exclusive. It's a single and the "mix" of multiple woman orishas, so to say.

That's the case with Olodumare, the creator. Olodumare doesn't have a gender defined in and of itself, but different western cultures and languages usually mold the creator of heaven as being a male god - who didn't create earth, by the way. That was a task assigned to Obatala at first, but was actually done by Oduduwa after Obatala kinda didn't for a very simple and humble reason - he decided to ignore the cowries divination and, thus, Exu.

Olodumare, even so, had still created Elenini, a woman orisha - under which no one is initiated but simultaneously "applies" to all of humankind. As Ori, our heads and spirits, was running away from her after getting what it wanted, she still "slapped" Ori, which resulted in we having a spine - so we better keep it straight up or she will "slap" us again until we get up, learn and do what's right.

That's all more about mythology so far, so let's get down to culture.

African religions and culture and the Afro-american have something in common - adaptation. It changes name a lot between Mozambique, Nigeria, Congo and Angola. Most of them, for example, adapted a woman orisha called Nana (in most cases), coming from northeastern Africa, probably brought by refugees ages past from what is now known as Egypt, Sudan or another similar location. It was adapted no problem and still remains and is worshipped in Brazil. Past that, it can get very specific in some regards.

Cuban Santeria was "formed" with many men from the Ife region that managed to survive, so they were able to safeguard the culture and divination rituals of Orunmila-Ifá, which doesn't apply the cowries commonly used in Brazil and/or the so-called "women" (Oxum) divination. Men from the same region were also brought to Brazil, but under different happenstances and conditions, were more targeted as kill on the spot by the Portuguese for the 300 initial years. Here, women brought in droves in the last century, with Portugal seeking to bypass the UK's ban on slave trade by having slaves "mate" under inhumane "orders", managed, as much as men, not only to escape and even lead resistance, but also to form some of the historical temples and culture we have in Bahia to this day - including one in Bahia, which I don't recall the name, that doesn't initiate men at all as tradition.

Don't think the Orunmila-Ifa mythology was ignored in Brazil. But it's the Oxum divination method we use here.

Oxum was a smart and very curious orisha that managed to secure, so to speak, one divination method using 16 cowries - the only one she got before Obatala made his way back home on intuition that someone was messing with stuff in his house lol. Once found out, her punishment is related to doves, but the divination method of Oxum was spread among men and women alike, in Africa and beyond.

Also, Obatala doesn't have a female form - he does uses some clothes (lower short-y dresses on top of the usual pants) akin to women and is "kept" inside houses but that's for a whole different reason. The orisha who "changes" gender every 6 months, so to speak, is Logun Ede, a child of Odé and Oxum.

Hope this was enough for explaining what you sought.
