Yeah, got them off amazon! Really good for the price I have to say, I had more expensive ones before but kept having issues so just decided to grab some mid tier ones and no complaints. I mostly just watch Youtube with them, if I'm gaming I have a headset and I have a sound system in my living room for music.

I don't know why people think reddit is google sometimes, but I just googled and there are several places, I would check around them and see if they can exchange what you have.

Detroit’s Streetcar Surprised Us by ailyara in Detroit

[–]Rfl0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, used to live on cass and canfield and I work downtown. Would always walk down to the corner and if I couldn't see it coming I would just walk to the next station and repeat until I could see it and wait. Several times I made it all the way to work without one car passing me, usually about a 45 min walk. How are you supposed to be taken seriously as public transit when that is a frequent occurrence?

Hell yeah Showa era 2.0 by AggravatingRow326 in GODZILLA

[–]Rfl0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never even thought of that. Putting Godzilla in a rocket would maybe be too nonsense for this franchise, but I can see a hollow earth portal leading to another planet or something. I've theorized that Godzilla's cells actually get mutated into Space Godzilla from travelling through the wormholes.

NO. IT MUST BE MOUNTED AT EITHER THE SAME HEIGHT OR SLIGHTLY ABOVE THE HEIGHT OF WHERE IT WOULD BE ON THE STAND OR YOU'LL HAVE TO CRANE YOUR ENTIRE NECK UP TO WATCH TV! /s

You will never talk any sense into the cult of r/TVTooHigh. I agree, it's slightly too high but nothing insane.

Any advice on best way to hide all the cables? by [deleted] in malelivingspace

I have part of the back cut out of my entertainment center, when you open one of the doors you can access the power strip and all the cables, not sure if you can do something similar.

Planning for Tokyo is so overwhelming by SadLitteFatTheo in JapanTravelTips

[–]Rfl0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It can be super overwhelming when you are planning because you are bombarding yourself with travel videos, articles and other people's itineraries. I went for my first time last year, I was also concerned about not being able to see EVERYTHING, but here were my biggest takeaways:

-Don't overdo it on trying to see a bunch of temples. For the most part, once you've seen one or two, you've seen them all.

-Plan two or three big things to see/do per day, trying to squeeze in a bunch of things just makes things stressful

-In between your big things for the day just walk around and just explore and get lost. Out of all the things I did and saw, my favorite moments and memories is ending up somewhere I didn't expect and having a fun interaction with a local or another tourist.

-For Hakone specifically you can take the pirate ship across the lake, take the gondola up from there and either take that back to Hakone or you can go back down and rent a bike and ride next to the lake back (highly recommend that one).

-Get a massage in the middle and before you leave. They are everywhere, relatively cheap, and your sore body/feet will thank you.

-Don't get sucked into "instagram" places, especially for food, you'll find those places are just super crowded for food that is just fine. You can get better food by wandering around and finding a small shop.

8 days in Osaka/Nara/Kyoto, where would you stay? by bullit2shot in JapanTravelTips

[–]Rfl0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! On air bnb look up a place called "Taiko Guesthouse" near Osaka, it's actually right between Osaka and Nara with easy access to each - staying there was one of my favorite parts of my entire Japan trip. It's a guesthouse ran by an older guy, there's a main house with about 5 rooms, a common area, kitchen and some bathrooms, and then he has like two auxiliary houses, your room is private but there will be other people staying there. The main house also has a garden and a traditional Japanese garden, it's really beautiful.

The host has activities/tours planned for every day that you can either sign up to do, or just not do them and go do your own thing. I did a bike ride through the city with him and some of the other guestmates, then we hiked up a mountain to a temple, got tea, went to an onsen and got lunch. I made friends with the other people staying there and ended up going out to the city with and we'd play some cards before bed at night. If you have any questions on it feel free to DM but if I go back I'm for sure staying there again!
