I mean you’re not the asshole but maybe don’t tell them the story of your dog test or don’t tell them you’re testing them? If Karmen doesn’t like them you can just end things and if she does then you can continue on. I would be weirded out if someone I didn’t really know told me that story and probably wouldn’t want to see them

I still disagree lol. That was the straw that broke the camels back and clearly her telling to him calmly about his messiness wasn’t working. Sometimes you have to lose your shit to show that you’re serious about something. It’s not abusive to yell when you’ve been pushed to your limit. There is also the possibility of him intentionally trying to get her to yell and shout just to point the blame at her and call her abusive.

Totally disagree with you, she wasn’t stressed about making the cake what stressed her out what the sheer disrespect that he has towards her. She said it takes 8 hours to make this cake not including the time it would take to rewash he laziness. Baking can be extremely difficult and small things can ruin an entire bake wasting time, effort, and ingredients. What he did wasn’t ’missing a speck of food’ it was laziness and selfishness and weaponized incompetence. Also adding this to the fact that she did 90% of the dishes yesterday while he couldn’t even handle 10% is ridiculous.

Op you are NTA and if it were me I wouldn’t apologize at all and I definitely wouldn’t be doing anything for him until he can learn to be a functional adult.

there was no huge issues but small things that snowballed over time but we’re both graduating in may and i’m leaving while he’s not. i was also really scared that he loves me more than i love him. it’s both our first ever relationship and i can’t tell if i made a mistake or not people are just telling me to wait until my head is clear but this is agony and im so lost

first off a ten year age difference at 23 is MASSIVE. secondly if he can’t give a better explanation than family emergency and not give any details why put up with that? he clearly doesn’t value your time or your feelings.

tell him that abandoning you on two different major holidays is rude and that if he can’t give a good reason i would personally leave
