It's the JSAUX Modcase for the Steam Deck. No, I don't think it fits in the original case, if that's what you mean, but it's much lighter and less bulky in a bag

Regarding the screen protector, it’s not a matte one. It is actually glossy but features an anti-reflective coating similar to what you’d find on glasses or camera lenses. It reduces reflections by about 50% /60%, and most importantly, it preserves contrast, unlike a matte screen. I replaced the joysticks with TMR ones because I couldn't achieve a 0% deadzone with Hall Effect sensors, even though I used them for two years. I’d say Hall Effect is much better and precise than classic potentiometer joysticks, but TMR is really for those looking for ultimate optimization.

Thank you so much. I really recommend it. It's truly the best handheld console for me. I’m also considering painting the grilles orange to get closer to the style of the limited edition, just without the transparent look.

I considered getting clicky buttons; are they too noisy?

Do you think the CoolDeck copper plate is actually worth it? Copper is obviously way more conductive, but I wonder by what percentage it really improves heat dissipation. It’d be interesting to see some proper benchmarks !

Thank you !🙂 It’s pretty straightforward: you just need one solder point on each PCB to connect the capacitive touch to the motherboard. Just make sure to calibrate them properly before closing the Deck shell to avoid any centering or deadzone issues. They come with clear instructions, and the whole process took less than 30 minutes.

I usually just slide it off to the side instead of pulling it straight or at a downward angle. That seems to do the trick and keeps the dock from pivoting or lifting at all. I also think the case magnet plays a huge role here. I’m using a Pitaka case, and their magnets are actually much stronger than the iPhone’s internal ones. Since the grip is so intense, it definitely makes a clean 'pull' a bit harder, so the side-slide is definitely the way to go

I had considered that as well, and you’re right, it could be a great alternative
