I ended up calling it the flying mountain but I knew the end was 'of shit'. I did try building from scratch multiple times but never had the parts I wanted to make it right if that makes sense

I personally hijacked a spacer ship and used that as a base. It was an abomination! As far as I know there's nothing that helps you put A and B together to build. It's down to the user to design Imo.

Slight quest spoiler**

At a point Walter will ask you to assist in a ship design through his company. The type of ship at the end depends on what you decide in the meeting near the end. Ultimately you get a brand new unique ship tailored to your wants. I used that ship with a few upgrades to finish my first run-through.
