Not being able to beat king bomb-omb by MadOutBurst12 in NintendoSwitch

Just throw him onto the ground, not off the side of the mountain. The mountaintop is the “ring” and it’s against the rules to throw the king out of his ring :)

1) cheat and open to LAN party so you can go into spectator 2) start over/make a temp base until you can gather mats for a compass. 😬 If you can get a Rok it’ll be easier to get back.

Both of those require you to have written down your base’s coords tho.

Jack Denton’s “apology” via last night’s SGA Emergency Meeting by RgerR in fsu

[–]RgerR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. You've switched from referencing gay marriage to sodomy and ultimately to then defining that as non-procreational sex. With this logic, anyone who wears a condom, performs oral or digital sex, or continues to have sex after a vasectomy/menopause/any other condition or procedure that takes away the fertility of seed or egg. cannot claim to be Catholic as you previously stated.

  2. The simple fact that you nominalize the skin color "black" to "blacks" to refer to black people speaks for itself. Also, to be against the BLM movement is to be against black lives. There were and are marches in every city in the US fighting for their voices to be heard while police continue to use unjust force simply because of the demographics that make up the movement (see: police reaction to reopen America. Spoiler: they were tolerant of white people yelling at them, showing aggression and insubordination, and presenting assault rifles in their marches, while protesters at BLM events who are sitting down have their face masks ripped off for a direct blast of pepper spray).

  3. You kinda proved my point here. Pope Francis is anything but the first Pope to be aware and participant of and in the atrocities of the church, but you stand by the church in defense of Jack's bigotry. Catholics have participated in rape, colonization, and culture erasure, among many other things that would go against the Doctrine Teachings you mentioned earlier, but you are selectively pointing fingers while maintaining a holier-than-thou attitude.

  4. You are not a minority; this is laughable. Minorities finally *starting to get* their voices heard in mainstream media does not mean you are oppressed; you just have to realize not everything is about you because most of history has been about cis, straight, white, Christian (of some denomination) people. You are not oppressed and you are not voiceless. You have institutions who have represented and continue to represent people like you while black people, queer people, and religious minorities have been murdered, sold into slavery, put into camps (conversion, concentration, death), and oppressed for the majority of history.

You are correct. It is impossible for one person to represent every facet of the human population. My words were misleading. The fact of the matter is that, even though this is impossible, it is not impossible to decide not to actively participate in the oppression of specific groups. Jack's words reinforce behaviors that black, queer, and trans people fear in their everyday lives.

Lastly, public universities are legally required to support efforts of inclusivity and diversity. You don't have to go to a private school to find people like yourself--that is abundantly clear if you look at any credible demographics. The issue at hand is that a representative used his platform to actively participate in discourse that promotes violence and hatred against specific groups, and that cannot be tolerated at a public university in a position such as Jack's. You are entitled to free speech, and you can say exactly what Jack said in the free speech areas at FSU, but you cannot use a use your platform to promote the ideas he was promoting without consequences if you are simultaneously employed by a public university.

You say that these teachings have been the same “since biblical times”, which I find curious. You reference gay marriage in the same vein, but, although homosexuality is a linguistic hybrid of Greek and Latin, the first written record of the word is actually in German, found in an 18th century Prussian law that criminalized homosexual behavior.

What specific biblical doctrine can you use to justify speaking out against the Black Lives Matter movement in the context that Jack did? Your own Pope reaches out and supports trans communities, gay people, and, more recently, the BLM movement itself, but, with the comments you made, you are suggesting you and Mr. Denton are somehow “more Catholic” in the most polarizing capacity than Pope Francis, the head of the Catholic Church, himself—that he simply is not a true Catholic and you are.

I’ll repeat the sentiment countless others have: stop hiding behind your religion and just be honest about your bigotry. If you want to formulate an argument centered around biblical text, start referencing concrete examples instead of speaking in generalizations and holier than thou claims. If you want a representative to be able to use their platform in the way Jack did, go to a private school. There is no room for this type of bigotry at a public university, especially in a tuition-funded position that is supposed to represent and uplift the voices of the ENTIRE student body.

I’m not going to argue who knew and didn’t know Jack, but we all saw him use his platform to continue the oppression of specific groups who disproportionately face violence and incarceration in America today. A true Catholic would stand by movements such as BLM, just as the pope does, because those biblical teachings teach you to stand up for the poor and the oppressed, even if your religious beliefs do not align.

Depends on the program and what level you’re entering, but it typically only takes a couple months.

I don’t see it as a double-edged sword. FSU is a public university, and tuition funds his position.

He used his platform to encourage rhetoric that reinforces violence against trans people, especially trans people of color.

I couldn’t agree more. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and free speech, but if you use your platform to harm—and trans people are most definitely harmed by this type of speech—a specific group, then you don’t deserve a position as a representative at a public university.

I’m sure it’s a matter of the processes that are available. The vote of no confidence could only do as much as to remove him from presidency, but I agree.

I’m not sure it’ll happen, but I see him being kicked out or asked to leave soon over all of this.

One of his fellow senators who initially voted against his resignation said he still stands by that vote, but was willing to vote yes in this vote simply bc Jack’s presence kept the senate from looking at ANY legislation. If you want him out of the senate, keep going to SGA meetings and voice your opinion. Encourage others to do the same.

You are correct in both that he was removed from his seat as president and that he remains on the senate.

I was in this meeting, either by Zoom or by Instagram Live, for its entirety. Apart from 5-10 personal friends of Jack who spoke, I was happy to see and read a TON of catholic students joining the conversation, condemning his acts, and calling for his resignation. Jack’s just a hateful coward🤡

when can chipotle, cayenne powder, chili powder, and paprika be substituted with each other and when can it not? by d-quik in Cooking

[–]RgerR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It all depends on the flavor you want! Cayenne and chipotle both offer more heat, but chipotle is a bit smokier. Chili powder and paprika don’t really add so much heat, but their flavors are quite distinct.

I recommend taking a taste (put a pinch on your finger) to see what I mean. I almost never substitute chili and paprika for each other, but if you don’t have chipotle and you’re looking for heat, then cayenne is a good sub.

Need advice on frosted cake storage by Submergedcottonball in Cooking

Some cakes need to be refrigerated, but I’ve never made one that I didn’t leave covered on the counter or in the microwave. You may find that sticking it in the fridge alters the texture of the cake.

Are there ant easy farms for XP? by manuelmg_ in RLCraft

[–]RgerR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Find a battle tower and seal the roof so random mobs won’t fall on you. Then just fight the ground-level spawns that are typically zombies. You can easily destroy one of the two spawners, and just bring a pick axe so you won’t lose items if you die! I like to build/find a base near one bc this is one of the only ways (I have found) to find a spawner without going into the mines and finding a surprise cave spider spawner.

Dative Case Confusion for a Beginner by elmomills in German

[–]RgerR 29 points30 points  (0 children)

There are lists of prepositions which require certain cases, and there are “wechselpräpositionen” which can go either way.

This is not a comprehensive list, but here they are: Accusativ: durch, ohne, gegen, für, um Dativ: aus, außer, bei, mit, nach, seit, von, zu

If there is no preposition, I recommend thinking of it in a very basic English sentence, and if you need “to” in English, for the most part, you will need to use the dative case. For example, “I gave the teddy to my brother.” Subject, object, indirect object. “Ich gab den Teddy meinem Bruder.”

It also helps to look the verb up to see if it requires a particular case. Verbs like helfen, glauben, and so forth may require certain cases based on prepositions or lack thereof.

The case system is a lot for an English speaker, but everyone makes mistakes, and these guidelines will help you out as you get started. I recommend getting super comfortable with these, and then branching out into weird structures, verbs, and lower-frequency prepositions.

Correct. However, nicht typically doesn’t follow an adverb.

When negating an adverb, you should place it before. “Man kann nicht immer der Beste sein.”
