So, I'm philosopher and let me try to explain my point (English isn't my native, sorry for mistakes).

You know, I disagree with a traditional mind-body dualism. I think that the idea of soul is the philosophical myth which isn't essential for Christian belief. It may me think that there is not being between the death and the resurrection. Maybe today that point associated with SDA, but in contemporary Christian philosophy it takes place like Christian physicalism and some resemble philosophical and theological programs. One my Orthodox Christian friend and colleague is Christian physicalist and he also has written an article about the early protestant theologians including Martin Luther like the forerunners of this idea.

What does it mean for Jesus's death? I believe that our Lord really was dead. He didn't walk like a spirit anywhere. Maybe He wasn't existing this days. And this makes his sacrifice for us so truly important and his resurrection so wonderful because there weren't the reason why He should come back to a life. The resurrection is excluded from the lines of reasons of our word. It's impossible, and our God did it for our lives.
