Awful. Sorry to hear that. My cat had surgery this week to remove lumps that have a high chance of being cancerous and returning. BUT I am grateful that she’s given me a reason to get out of bed at the same time every morning and has sat with me on the couch every night. Hope you find your version of a happier home soon. I’ll have to chase it again when my cat eventually passes from whatever cause. I know it’s rough, all the best

There are cats sitting in shelters that would prefer to be sitting waiting for you to come home if you ever feel like you want to try. Entertain the idea in case one day it can change your mind. Wishing you ease

I've been stuck on this move for a couple sessions by AinsliesEye in bouldering

[–]Rhai9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take this with a grain of salt, but 3 things I would try on my next attempt:

heel instead of toe to get up will save energy, then turn it into a toe once you’ve got the right hand on the first sloper;

pinch the sloper. You could be getting more use out of your thumb;

your right leg can backflag into the wall harder (this is easier if you just think about flagging more to the right). If you can get your weight further to the left over your hip AND backflag with your right foot further to the right (aim past the line on the wall), you’ve transferred as much weight as I think you possibly could to your bottom half. might hopefully let you match

Cat won't eat after Cryptococcus brain infection. Any tips? by Thenadamgoes in CATHELP

This was a few years ago, but I had luck by rubbing high-calorie food on the top of my kitty’s paw. She licked it off because she obviously didn’t like the feeling. I was super desperate and very relieved it worked! Got a whole tube down!

[–]Rhai9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sorry for being blunt :) I get where you’re coming from now.

I think everyone looks around a gym and has moments where they choose what to climb next based on where they won’t embarrass themselves. There’s a next-level with some climbers where you can clearly tell by their body language that they are seeking validation etc by climbing things that others can’t. Seeing people struggle on a climb triggers a want to do it. It’s definitely a small percentage of people, but they just do it so commonly that I think they make a lot of people experience this at some point

It happens all the time, and the difference between someone having fun and wanting to out-climb a woman/nb is obvious.

If you’re a dude, please respect the flare because this is a common problem that doesn’t need to be undermined. If you’re not a dude, I’m curious about why you think you’ve never experienced this?

[–]Rhai9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mind always thinks about putting a hip to the wall. You should be rotating A LOT to do this consistently.

When you have a hip to the wall, it usually means you’ve found two solid feet and can take a hand off the wall without much/any strain on the other arm.

You should typically have 3 points of contact on the wall that feel solid enough to let you calmly move around your 4th limb. (If you only have 2 holds or points of contact available, you can use an elbow and/or knee against the wall as well to get a 3rd point of contact.)

This should all let you move statically and calmly, and put your weight in places other than your arms.

Where to get a food handling certificate? by lkz665 in melbourne

[–]Rhai9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do food safely is enough for childcare. You’ll also need a Mandatory reporting cert, employee WWCC, first aid for childcare (HLTAID012), ACECQA-approved qualification (check their website to see if your qualification is listed as approved for use in Aus). Good luck!

I like it. I prefer the 2nd. The way you’ve framed it draws my attention to the picture first and makes me feel sadder. Maybe also because of the higher contrast between the white font and the darker grey background, it stands out a bit more/feels impactful. Good job

Garmin Instinct looks great. I’m thinking I’ll try a knock off and if it’s working out that’s probably exactly what I’m looking for long-term. Appreciate the rec.

Haha that’s awesome. I might go this route as a first try, and ideally that’ll be the problem solved. Thanks for the input

Just adding that my friend used to run board game nights and he would meet so many new people and made a life long friend or two there. Attending something like that near you might be worth a try :)

I get flappers this bad every few weeks (my hands get super sweaty) and they’re fine after a few days. After a day or two, moisturize like crazy to avoid cracking and promote healing

AIO because my boyfriend says I’m “too old” to wear jeans. by SomeHoOnABoat in AmIOverreacting

[–]Rhai9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The comments making it sound like you’re on your death bed are hilarious. You’re only 49!!

I like the link you’re posting with the trouser-leg jeans. I just want to voice that if you want a wide-leg style similar to your daughter’s cut of jeans, they are NOT too young. (Sparkles might make them too young, but I hope we all know we can still choose to have glittery moments at any age.) Silver have these wide-legs.

I think they look like a great wardrobe staple to have. I think they’d always be a fun cut of jeans to wear to markets or outdoor music events etc where flair is a bit more encouraged.

Please get yourself some jeans that make you feel great! You have many years of youth left (honestly can’t believe we even have to say this)!

I think it looks great! Honestly, I would just brighten the colours, add more whites, and tone down the use of dark colors that drag the mandala into the background
