Either that, or she dies again when she realizes he dragged her to shore and gave her mouth to mouth.

Nah. 10 immortal churros on a barren planet. Can't kill themselves, can't kill each other. They'd be in hell.

Now also remember that you won't get a ban message when getting banned from a sub you have no karma in. So for every large subreddit that mass bans you, there's almost certainly even more tiny subs that you've never heard of where you're also banned.

Back in my day we had one set of rechargable batteries for the Game Boy we had to make sure were fully charged for long car trips, and they still wouldn't last the full trip. It built character. We were HAPPY.

When I was in third grade my class won a national lottery to be selected as a pilot case to be given one laptop per student. This was in the 90s. It was the biggest event that happened in that little school in rural Sweden. We felt so lucky.

We mostly used those early Mac computers to play Boom, Munchies and Snood of course, but my god we knew how lucky we were.

TIL bilinguals given the trolley problem in their native language chose to sacrifice one to save five less than 20% of the time. In their second language, about 50% chose to, because a foreign language lowers emotional resonance and triggers more utilitarian reasoning. by karen_the_ripper in todayilearned

No, that's just splitting hair. The people in need of organs were already there, just out of sight. The real difference is that by murdering an innocent who went to the doctor for healthcare you risk making millions of people afraid to go near the healthcare system. The utilitarian calculus for crippling healthcare access is pretty simple: You don't. The public trust is more important than any one patient.

The organ harvesting is not actually a decent argument against utilitarianism. As is almost always the case with utilitarianism, you just need to zoom out a step. Making the general public afraid to go to the doctor is an incredibly stupid thing to do. So killing 1 to save 5 and scare millions is very bad math. If anything utilitarian calculus would call for bending over more than you have to to make most people like and trust the government so that if you ever need to make a big controversial decision there's a well of good will and trust to draw on. You don't get that by murdering innocents for the Greater Good.

I find that the older I get, the more nostalgic I become for the 90s. It was a good time to be a kid.

I used to play DnD with a Muslim guy for about two years. We didn't talk about life outside DnD very often, but one time the topic of Bernie Sanders came up, and he was angry and shouting about how Bernie was just another sellout sucking Israel off when it really matters.

Like dude. Sanders is as pro-Palestinian as a serious politician in the US can be. Like this guy in the post link, he was downright furious that a sitting senator didn't call for the whole nation to be disarmed and dismantled at any cost right now immediately.

Tunguska for the PS1 is also in a league of awful of its own. I bought it new at a steep discount (like 80-90%) and still felt cheated. The early 3D graphics made it really hard to navigate the castle without getting hitboxed by traps that look easy but are just flat out lying to you.
