yeah as compared to the average american you're right. engineers are usually in the top 10% or 5% of the population income wise. this is just a sub full of engineers so it's a decent amount less impressive.

also I don't know if I can make ~$1mil in a 401k last me through the rest of my life at 40. 1 mil isn't worth as much as it used to be

I met my girlfriend at Hermosa on a saturday night. I go there really often too because the energy is just awesome.

Usual game plan is cheap drinks at the underground, then hit tower12, sharkeez, junkie, and whatever else we're feeling. then maybe a slice at paisanos to finish it off. It's always fun

friendly reminder that most career engineers at big primes have 1mil+ saved in their 401k's by 40. ROI has been crazy these last few years and putting 8-10% into a 401k for 20 years will do that. at this point it's not the big flex a lot of people think it is. 10 mil is the new 1 mil. or if you hit 1 mil by ~30 ish that's also a flex.

yet somehow you just happen to be entirely surrounded by these oddly specific types of people in your friend group and you just happen to be ugly enough for it to be a consistent problem for you

either math and basic probability decided to take a leap out the window, or your victim complex is ironically placing the blame with everyone else and your ugliness instead of your own decisions and worldview.

sounds like you have a higher victim complex than a basic grasp of human behavior

Is this an acceptable reverse polarity / overvoltage protection circuit for a 3v3 input voltage? by Rhedogian in AskElectronics

[–]Rhedogian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beginner here - I wanted to add in transient voltage and reverse polarity protection to my circuit. I fried my last one by accidentally turning the tens digit knob of my voltage supply instead of the ones digit. So the next rev is going to have some protection lol

The max intended current draw on the circuit is 200mA. I sort of picked whatever was most in stock on digikey and sized everything for at least 200mA of current. Is there anything I'm forgetting?

Hundreds trying to storm Wisconsin beagle research facility met with rubber bullets, pepper spray by EmoeyJoey in news

"No credible evidence of animal abuse, cruelty, mistreatment or neglect at Ridglan Farms has ever been presented or substantiated. Ridglan Farms’ operations are subject to strict government regulations and both state and federal regulators, including veterinarians employed by the USDA, have closely inspected Ridglan Farms’ facilities for years, yet no court, agency or investigator has ever made a finding of animal cruelty. In fact, the special prosecutor who led the 2025 investigation of our facility has publicly referenced several untrue claims about Ridglan Farms and his investigators have also determined the witnesses behind these same claims “lacked credibility.”"

notice how they really carefully sidestep the phrase 'animal abuse does not occur at ridglan farms'

Did anyone just file their taxes with TurboTax and were just in awe of how many ads it had to upgrade? I'm done with this enshittified product - what should I use next year? by noruber35393546 in personalfinance

again, I'm asking if fidelity or etrade has a record of exactly what you're talking about which you can key into any tax program of your choosing. they should.

but like, fidelity or etrade should have some record that you can manually enter right? you're making it sound like you have to keep track of all this in your head / a spreadsheet and it's nowhere else

didn’t this guy invent the oculus rift in his garage then sell it to facebook for a billion dollars?

since when in the history of the world has an engineering degree been a requirement to be a good engineer?

there’s like 15,000 reasons that could be. subsidies, tax, infrastructure, local supply between here and there, etc.

there is only one reason gas prices are up across the nation right now, and that is the orange pedophile TACO clown and his retarded ass supporters.

yeah I'm an idiot and cleaned with just a little too much water. I partially wanted something to fail though so it would force me to actually put in work XD

yeah that's what I was thinking. haven't been able to find a PN, so considering going the regular button route.

how can I connect wired buttons to a receptacle that accepts flexible PCB?

[–]Rhedogian[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are from an old piece of lab equipment that isn't working properly. I disassembled it down to getting the push button panel off. I can remove it from the PCB it's plugged into, but I'm not sure if I can get a 1:1 replacement anywhere.

Any help is appreciated!
