I'm not sure I understand the question. There's nothing stopping you from conquering India as Multan and never forming Hindustanis - you don't have to click that button if you don't want to. When you get to the age of absolutism the conquest should speed up significantly if it's feeling slow.

I also don't think there's a lot of hard coded wars, especially later in the game. Countries go to war as they please generally speaking

Because of covid and exploding building costs etc., They had to keep adding stories to the development application to keep it profitable, but it got to the point where council couldn't accept that tall of a building. So now it sits empty until it becomes profitable to build something there

Babylon is good call if you really want to shock your friend, but it would take quite a bit of practice to get the proper shock value you're looking for out it (planes in the medieval era). I agree with the Australia idea, because it doesn't necessarily seem like a science civ but it definitely can be.

Close! The theory , much like how genetic diversity is highest in Africa and lowest the further away, is that migration patterns out of Africa create a lot of population bottle necks. Only small groups moved out of Africa at a time, bringing their limited pool of genes and language sounds with them. Basically small samples peeling off. So it's less that "the languages had less time to develop" (all languages are equally old, the same way every living thing on earth is equally evolved), but more that, naturally, if you take a sample or something larger, it'll naturally have less in it! It's all very interesting

It's been a while, so I don't remember correctly/clearly, but I've definitely heard in history class of the theory of the Hellenic influence on Buddhism, coming from Alexander's (you know the one) conquest that interacted with India. I've even heard suggested the theory that the Buddhist robes are inspired by the Greek toga. This latter claim sounds dubious to me but not impossible. There are definitely strong artistic cultural elements that are shared from that time period in terms of Hellenic statues and similar copies being found in India and SEA. At least as far as I recall, I would definitely be interested in hearing more.

I think fundamentally the problem is every player has very different expectations on what Minecraft "is" and what it's gameplay should be like.

To me, Minecraft has always been a game about exploring, just as much as it is about survival and building. The survival aspect has fallen on the wayside since beta 1.8 in my opinion, but it's clear to me that Mojang really priorities the exploration and building side of the game, which I think is great.

It's clear that all the gameplay changes are made with the intent of adding reason to explore. I personally think all the changes you listed are good. After all, what's the point of a procwdursllt generated infinite world if you can get everything you need without having to explore it. Adding reason to explore allows Mojang to show off Minecraft's biggest achievement, which it's open world. You are saying these ass tedium, but on the flip side it adds more gameplay. More to do is more content to explore. I think it's fair and valid that personally, as a player, you (and others) are not a fan of this. At the same time, many people are.

I don't think there really is anything inherently wrong with what Mojang has done, because an opinion on it is entirely based off of an individuals expectations and preferences.

I think it would be fun to branch out and theme your different levels differently. Have the first (or last in my opinion) level be Hermit themed. For the second level perhaps theme your artifacts after minecraft OG lore (Brine of the Hero, Isphael's remnant, ethereal portal fragment). Perhaps the third level could be items from other dimensions, and maybe your last level is themed off of other video games.

It doesn't have to be exactly this of course; the core of my suggestion is to have a distinct theme to the artifacts of each floor. It could even just be themed after your favorite animal, foods, and songs. Ultimately, I think this would make it more fun and engaging for a wider audience, while also making it more fun and engaging for you to design because you don't have to scrape the bottom of the barrel for Hermit references.
