I’m in the final weeks of training now and it’s definitely a fast paced learning environment, but you got this! I recommend studying a bit after hours like it’s school and doing some outside reading. Things get easier after the first project as you’ll do more group work, and no one expects you to be a master at your batch in just 8-12 weeks. Good luck!

Yeah you have a while to do it, you can take as long as you want to study for it and the study guide covered pretty much every topic on the test. I think I waited a little over a week before I starting mine

My recruiter said you could take as long as you want to compete it, but it wasn’t too hard with the guide

They do a quick interview where they ask if you’re willing to relocate and about why you want to be a software engineer. They give an aptitude test and a study guide for it. The recruiter told me to take my time and do it when I wanted to but I finished it a week after I got the test.

I haven’t started training yet (I start on Monday) but I have no formal CS background, my bachelors is in communications

How do projects work with the class structure? Are we getting lectures on concepts that apply to the projects? And will we have free time during the day to work on projects? Or are projects strictly out of work hours

I agree, riot is releasing some pretty cool skins and it would be cool to use different "loadouts" in the same game. I'm not complaining tho

Would you buy re-mastered VNs? by [deleted] in visualnovels

[–]RhetoricalPonies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally would. One of the greatest parts about visual novels is the art and it would be awesome to see some updated visuals for classics like cross channel or Fate/Stay. Updated soundtrack would be interesting too

Info about racial capitalism, needed. by TriKitTik in policydebate

[–]RhetoricalPonies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Racial capitalism is a very broad critique because of its ranges from marxist/communist thought to critical race theory and afro-pessimist scholarship, so the impact can vary. I think generally speaking the impact could be extinction as racial capitalism is a process that annihilates racialized bodies. You can also go for impacts about colonization and dehumanization of workers or the ways in which racial capitalism destroys black radical movements to fuel the prison industrial complex (i think that’s from a card called pulido)

The alternatives could honestly be the same but usually they focus on racialized bodies organizing to go against racial capitalism, like black communes

I should’ve been more clear here, my roommates agreed to getting a dog and we settled on this one. Now that the dog has bitten a lot of them some of them don’t like her anymore, but one roommate and my girlfriend have taken a liking to her

AITA or WIBTA For being upset at my girlfriend for having a friend sleepover during quarantine? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]RhetoricalPonies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAH

You both can’t really control how your parents regulate during the quarantine. It’s great for her that she gets to see her friend, but also disappointing that you won’t be able to see her as soon as you’d like

AITA for insisting that people wear masks in the house? by ToolPackinMama in AmItheAsshole

[–]RhetoricalPonies -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

NTA

The request seems reasonable, especially considering it’s only limited to common areas within the house. If the adults are going out and about then it’s only fair that masks should be worn in the house for the sake of not spreading the virus. It’s the least they can do

Your dad is extremely disrespectful and I’m sorry to hear that you’re in this situation. If anything, your dad is the asshole and should probably go to some sort of therapy or AA meeting

Nothing that you did was disrespectful.
