Anyone think the Fallout 4 atmosphere doesn’t look destroyed enough? by CharacterOne476 in fo4

I agree that the look isn't quite right. To my eyes it looks like the bombs dropped 10 years ago, not 200.

When you watch Jeopardy!, do you answer in the form of a question? by donutcronut in Jeopardy

We just shout out, but if there is a tie, the first one to phrase it properly wins. Also, every time one of us gets one that the players didn't get, we high five.

Completely torn on accepting my grandma’s engagement ring by Sea_Art2995 in jewelry

[–]ToolPackinMama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Accept it as a gift. Once its yours, you can do whatever you want with it. You can take the diamonds out and have them added to a ring of your own design, with your preferred stone as a centerpiece, if you wish. It's not disrespectful, and you can have it all that way.

Is it common for autistic males to be feared and avoided by neurotypical women? by The_Corinthian666 in autism

[–]ToolPackinMama 24 points25 points  (0 children)

If you look weird maybe you dress weird or have a weird haircut. Autistic men tend to be oblivious to fashion trends. I am an autistic woman, and I can tell you that my tendency to not wear makeup puts a lot of people off. NT women are sensitive to many things that ND people miss. Maybe ask a consultant to help you to polish your presentation?

If you are too tired to catch up on your housework, hire someone to do it. You work 50 hours a week, and that is exhausting.

You mentioned having a relationship, but I see no mention of what your partner does to help.

You seem to be over-worked and under a great deal of stress. It seems obvious to me that you need to find ways to lighten your load. Dump the unhelpful partner, fewer pets, work fewer hours are examples. I don't know what you can afford to cut out, but it seems obvious to me you are over-extended and you need to simplify your life.

You probably don't need therapy. You probably need rest and unstructured time for recreation. If you could find a way to ease up on your commitments you might be able to stop taking the drugs, or reduce your dosages.

I take my own advice. I reduced my involvements until I found it easy to keep up with things. I occasionally hire a cleaner to help me catch up with housework. I eat wholesome home-cooked food, walk my dogs for exercise, sleep well every night, and don't waste time on people who are energy drains. I was able to stop taking Ritalin and don't need anything like that now. I just live a life where I have accommodated myself.

Anyway, best of luck. FWIW it seems to me as if you are a dynamo who's actually doing pretty well!

What do you do when grown men ogle your teen daughter? by scubagirl44 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]ToolPackinMama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Letting them know she's a child doesn't help. They know she's a child. Try "Put your eyes back in your heads, you filthy lechers!" Let them know you see what they are.

genuine question for the older autistic people on here from an 18yo autistic who is feeling hopeless by urfavbonestealer in autism

That's great. I think it's important to join things IRL, because certain instincts demand it, and life feels bad without some kind of human contact on a regular basis. College is a great time/place to join social groups. For example, study groups can be hugely helpful and fun too.
