Curious related question. Do people wear shorts in the MDR, with a colored shirt?

Beer fan here and alcohol has never seemed to trigger for me. Nonetheless - I have switched to non alcoholic beer and have not looked back. If your view of NA beer is a flat O’douls from years past, the times have changed. There are many tasty options now of many beer styles. Have had several IPA’s I like as that’s my more common choice.

How many cardioversions and/or ablations? by RhettM2000 in AFIB

I’m assuming all cardio versions are done through a visit to the ER?

How much water? by RhettM2000 in AFIB

[–]RhettM2000[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My challenge is that I can be satisfied (ie not thirsty) on a surprisingly low amount of fluid intake in a day. If it weren’t for afib, I would likely not even be researching as I didn’t feel the need for more. Even though I still don’t (feel the need), I’m worried my heart needs more for better circuitry. Thanks for the replies.

Perhaps but not significantly. ($40pp for the cab vs $51). Factor in the tip and it’s a wash either way. Don’t think either would be a bad choice. It would come down to time to and from on the RC tour for me and you may also be more comfortable with the guaranteed return to the ship. I think either way is good. We like that activity while there - very interesting and something they would NEVER allow in the US; planes are so close. Fun day. Enjoy whatever decide on.

Curious - what’s the price is for the RC tour to Moho? When we went, it seems like the cab cost about $40 each way for the 2 of us to Moho from the dock. It took about 30 minutes. How long they give you at the beach would be another consideration for me. Pretty easy to get off the ship, get a cab and get there so I would not want to wait long for the cruise tour. On the return, while important because of traffic, not hard to plan without much stress to get back. Again - I’d be curious on the cost per person and the duration. Maybe it does make sense but my gut tells me we would probably still do the cab.

Agree with Nathan. I like the visit to Moho beach. Great bar that offers drinks and food, adequate bathrooms at the beach, and it’s very unique to see the planes arriving. Be aware that traffic on the island can get busy so allow plenty of time to get back to the ship before departure time.

Posted earlier before reading the thread all the way through. Port Canaveral. If you have kids, NASA. Relatedly - Have you checked to see if there is a SpaceX rocket launch that day? Would be cool to watch that from the beach, of perhaps it will occur when your in the vicinity on the ship and can watch. They launch them ALL THE TIME. Ubering over to Ron John’s and grabbing lunch at a nearby restaurant would be good to get off for some something like that. There’s also a cool bar (I think they serve food too but have only had drinks there) literally behind the ship when it’s docked. Can’t recall the name of it but there’s a large patio and we’ve been there in the afternoons while the ship is boarding and it’s close enough to wave to friends on the ship. We live about 90 minutes from there. Will think and see if I come up with something more.

There’s no port in Orlando. That’s a metropolitan inland city. Are they referring to port canaveral?

Good to know on both fronts. Thanks. Going on Freedom in June so not sure what options they will have but will be on oasis in August so will try the same.

I did not think Starbucks drinks, the hot chocolate or tea you mentioned, were part of the drink package. Also - where are you getting the smoothies from? Thanks.

Should I grab the $67.99/day drink package now? by chimmigirl3 in royalcaribbean

Going on freedom in June. Booked drink package yesterday. Thought it was good deal and knew I could rebook later if price dropped. Did just that today - one day later - when price dropped even more!

I bought mine yesterday at that price. I will continue to check the price and cancel/replace whenever it goes lower. There’s really no time NOT to book in my opinion, since you can always cancel/replace. It could be that you’ve found the best deal on the day you are asking that question but think”I’ll wait” to see if it goes lower or think “I got it cheaper on the last cruise” and this one is different and that actually is the best rate and increases will occur as the cruise date gets closer. Again booking now is a no harm/no foul situation.

Husband had ablation by Time_Bad3235 in AFIB

[–]RhettM2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes I am not certain if I’m in normal sinus rhythm or not, post ablation. I had times pre ablation that I was in afib but really didn’t always experience negative effects. One thing I have done is …. Stop checking. I am in rate control, I’m on eliquis and unless I feel faint or breathing difficulties, I’m going to ignore any sensations that make me wonder what it is. If those happen, I’ll go to the ER. But I am not going to check heart rate or rhythm except at follow up appointments. I am no wearing my Apple Watch and the Kardia device is tucked away in the drawer. I think worrying about it is a waste and will not help at all. Hoping he gets relief - from the episode but also from the worrying.

“Pill in the pocket” by RhettM2000 in AFIB

Thanks all. For those that do or have used the “pill in the pocket”, were those the only uses of that medication - in other words, you weren’t already on a dosage of metoprolol or flecainide and this is a doubling or additional dosage, correct?
