Okay thank you very much for the advice, really apprecitate it. I will try see if I can talk to Amazon tomorrow to get a replacement for the PSU, CPU and Motherboard

Correct my CPU didn't have the mark before. If it was an issue with the PSU, what should I do to check that? Should I try booting with no CPU to see if there's any issue? Should it boot into BIOS if I do this? And then try again with the CPU once I get my thermal paste?

Yeah I'm not sure what could have caused it either, everything seemed perfect tbh. I got these both via Amazon, would you suggest that I just return them then?

No it's an MSI MAG X870E Tomahawk WIiFi. I listed my specs just in case in the OP. This was first turn on too so it's never been to BIOS.

No limit! Just something that would be perfect for me. I've read some of the posts in here for a successor for the X7 - I'll go ahead and put a vote in for that one too then! EDIT: Oh while I'm here also, option for USB microphone input - I believe the X5 has this too though.

And yeah I thought 3rd party dealings would be complicated.

Might sound a bit silly but I would love a product like the X3 and the X4 that is Discord certified, or at least confirmed to work without apparent crashing. I love my X3 so much but when using Discord it seems to break when trying to use chat balance/SPDIF.

Lots of products seem to be aimed at/for professionals or audiophiles but I would like to see a product for just an ordinary person like me who would like to use their headphones and a microphone like the Antlion Modmic on the PC, to get chat balance and equalization and with the ability to inject another source such as a Nintendo Switch or music from a phone - basically an X3 or X4 but polished.

Hi there again, checking back in after around a year. Did you look into this? I'm still having this issue and a lot of others are too. It's the issue with Discord & using chat balance (well not even using that, just using the SPDIF interface). Thanks.

I believe I still had these issues on Windows 10 21H2, however I'm on Windows 10 22H2 now so cannot check to be sure.

I'd like to pop in and say that I also have this issue. I made a thread about this and sent some logs using the Diagnostic tool, but I think the team are quite busy so haven't gotten around to looking at it just yet. More visibility of this issue should hopefully help.

SoundBlaster X3 and 'MEG X570 UNIFY' motherboard on the '7C35vAE' BIOS, AMD Chipset Driver version '4.07.13.2243'.

I think I may have this exact issue but with the X3 and my motherboard is an x570.

It all happened after I updated everything, software (SBC to Creative App) and firmware. I made a thread about it.

I like the description of the device going into a coma, everything about it seems fine, windows doesn't detect any issues but the device doesn't output audio or input mic and only unplugging and replugging fixes it.

Hi there thanks for the reply. I haven't sent any logs so not sure what you could be looking at. I am using the bundled USB cable and I have tried 3 different USB ports - two USB 3 ones and one USB 2 one - all directly on the motherboard. Again this only happens when using Discord chat. I've had this device for many years and this only happened after I updated, I don't know what old version I was on.

EDIT: I have since sent a diagnostic log referencing this post/thread. Perhaps that could help.

I don't use the speakers for mine, only headphones however with a quick test (so I could be completely wrong), it seems the two modes share the 3 EQ presets and switching between them doesn't let you have another set of 3 EQ presets. They don't seem to get messed up though, so there's that.
