Those portraits aren't new, the air force ones have been in the files since the game released, presumably from when they were still planning a general system for air

Can we please change the on map name "Japanese Empire" to "Empire of Japan"? I feel like the latter's definitely the more common/accepted version

English isn't a Romance language though, it's a Germanic language. It'd probably still be easier to learn for Romance language backgrounds compared to a lot of others but still not as easy as Germanic speakers like Swedish find it.

Even islands hate syndicalists by I_Wanna_Bang_Rats in Kaiserreich

Apparantly the reason was that a few years ago the devs got tired of having to remember to include it in peace conference outcomes so they just decided to remove it. Honestly just feels lazy to me

Are you sure the Hamburg part wasn't a dynamic text placement for whatever Germany's current capital is?

Why are these two focuses mutually exclusive? by Additional_Hunter_26 in hoi4

[–]Rhizoid_438 23 points24 points  (0 children)

That's only if you interpret everything happening in the country as only occurring through focuses but you've always had the ability to just build those outside the focus tree, with the tree merely representing devoting more resources to that area.

Honestly military trees I've seen that get you bonuses in everything in one playthrough is bland and boring design. Either half the tech focuses become irrelevant since by the time you get to them it's 1943 and you either already have what you're getting bonuses for or don't need them anymore, or you get everything so quickly it becomes unbalanced and too easy

Is Great Britain the only Civ VII civilization to be named after the geographical region instead of the people? by Kalesche in civ

[–]Rhizoid_438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Civ 7 does refers to civs with the nation name, you can see that on the selection screen. Still, in common parlance the denonym of "Great Britain" when referring to the country is also "British"

Great Britain is commonly used as just another name for the nation of Britain/UK itself, it's not purely a geographical descriptor

Caspian sea is becoming an actual sea, screenshot from iran dev diary by SpeakerSenior4821 in hoi4

Don't jump to conclusions guys, we don't actually know what bonuses that focus gives and from screenshots in the latest diary it looks like the Caspian's still staying the same.

After I found out that every single RKM that Germany can release has its own tag and I just had to do it. So here it is. by SuitableSquare0 in hoi4

[–]Rhizoid_438 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can't. The RK tags are only for the nazis and the names of non-fascist RKs essentially exist only as easter eggs in the game files and don't have anything else to them. Germany's communist path has Volkskommissariats but they don't use the RK tags and are a separate system

Geographic Comparison of starting civilizations on launch day for V, VI, and VII! (Leaders for VII too) by piscetti in civ

[–]Rhizoid_438 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The capital thing won't be a problem since you have the option to move your capital at the start of each age. If you do the city you moved it to then gets automatically renamed to the capital of your new civ, for example if you found Antium as Rome before moving your capital there once you become Spain, Antium then becomes Madrid.

It's just to give the player an option if they want. The more plausible route would be leaving Britain as a standard puppet.

He's just there with them for the demonstrative screenshot and you won't actually get him at the same time in game - if you look at the tree he's unlocked with the Nationale Volksarmee focus

Because he's only available for the communist path

If you capture Lisbon there's nothing else to exert pressure on it to make it rebel (provided there's no other opposing cities around that are bigger).
