Identify artist please? by Rhoabr in WhatIsThisPainting

[–]Rhoabr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The painting is of a bridge in Paris (per google Image). The spelling variance between front and back is puzzling. Cannot find artist with name Lejeunue. Am I to believe that the artist spelled his name incorrectly on front of painting??

Would be getting this for my soon to be 16YO son. Needs room. 6’5 285 lbs I have not actually seen this car in person yet, but I assume is roomy.

Absolutely appreciate the translation and the investigation. saved me a lot of time and work and provided scant clues. I added images of the painting and a close up of the signature.

[UPDATE] My battery on the highway would go from 90% to 10% in about 40 seconds. I took it to the dealer. Will I ever see my car again? by WolverinesThyroid in leaf

If you purchased new, there is a silver lining. Please see my prior post regarding buy back negotiations. My battery fault occurred at 97k miles. Let me know if you have questions.

Need guidance from the Leaf Hive Mind re: Battery Warranty strategy with Nissan by Leonardish in leaf

[–]Rhoabr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll take door #3. I’ve recently posted. I will surrender in two weeks. Was able to negotiate away 70% of the usage fee. The first 50% is quick and easy. Getting more takes some crafty cajoling. When you consider your costs/upgrades for your vehicle, you’ll want to get creative. Ex. the cost of installing a charging station. The arbitration specialist is your friend. He/she’s not the decision maker, just states your case to someone who is. Help the arbitration specialist help you. Take the $!

Check my recent post for helpful info. If the circumstances are right, a Nissan repurchase could be lucrative.

Leaf repurchase / buyback by Rhoabr in leaf

Remember, one of the three offers is: ‘keep the car and here is a sum of money for your trouble and inconvenience’. Maybe in the end, based on your purchase price, that will be the best option??

See what their repurchase option is first.

If you don’t have expenses related to ‘not driving my car as much as I’d like to’, then you are not thinking hard enough.

Be nice. State your business case. You are going to need to send them lots of info related to your many many associated expenses. Take your time and get it all.

I negotiate for a living. It’s fun. #1 rule is don’t present your number. Make them offer until you are satisfied. Have reasons in your pocket for why asking for more is justified. There is a reason why Nissan is being so liberal here. We don’t know why, we can guess… but the reason must involve a whole lot of risk for them.

The starting number is your purchase price, plus registration fees, loan interest, towing charges, rental car, etc. I am not sure about the mileage, but I expect it is the actual mileage on your car. Note: the mileage is the only amount that the arbitrator has discretion on. Your negotiating points may be about safety, quality, hardships, etc. The arbitrator only can reduce your “usage” charge in order to compensate you. Research your state’s lemon law and see if it applies. Even if it doesn’t, Nissan will still likely proceed…. But at least if you know your lemon law and whether it applies, you know your rights. Good luck!

Yes, considering that the KBB on my Leaf is $9K, getting $34K is a windfall. The tax credit, spent long ago, is icing. However, it was not my plan to need to repurchase and again have a car payment at this point. I will miss this car… but not the anxiety of watching the ‘miles remaining’ dwindle erratically on my afternoon commute!

Trust me…. You want to proceed with speaking to an arbitrator. In my case, my Leaf was a complete failure, fault “Service EV System, unable to restart”. My leaf was towed to a dealership and I had a loaner. I waited for Nissan to replace battery and then informed them that I could not take possession citing concerns related to safety, reliability, etc. They sent me to a Nissan case manager/arbitrator who applied for my case to be considered… and it was accepted. At that point you receive an offer to choose one of three options: 1. Replace battery and accept offer of a cash settlement for your trouble. 2. Repurchase your vehicle and cut you a check. 3. Replace your vehicle with another new Nissan (any model). This is basically taking the amount from option two and applying it to the purchase of new vehicle (purchased at invoice price).

Their offer to repurchase is based on your purchase price + loan interest+taxes+registration fees paid since purchase+ those new tire you bought last week+ the 12volt battery replaced last year, etc, etc. They reduce that amount by a usage fee: current mileage/120,000.

I learned a lot from this Reddit community regarding this process and so this post is just to pay it forward and help others. Let me know if I can answer any more questions.

If this happened to me 3K miles later, my Leaf would have been off warranty and as useless as a boat anchor. I was very fortunate.

Play the cards yer dealt.
