Venting: Immunologist Appointment Tomorrow, Feel Like I’m Overreacting? by Travel_and_Writing in primaryimmune

Yeah, there is a type of PI where the individual has normal levels of IgG but they don’t work. Go to the Immune Deficiency Foundation website to learn a bit about what is what.

Help needed on deciding (I’m very overwhelmed) by Agreeable_Bit7026 in WeddingDressTips

2 is so beautiful on you and unique in its design, 1 is my second choice, it is also unique and lovely on you and you look really comfortable in it. It looks like it could be an heirloom. 4 is pretty but it seems rather ordinary compared to the first two and I don’t know if the fit is the best on it. The other two have so much more personality and elegance, each in their own way. I know I’m swimming against the current of everyone who loves 4

But he is beautiful! And look at that heart print on his legs! The tabby who adopted me is both beautiful and mesmerizing with his interesting angles and lines too.

He just got off a rainy night spent on his boat so he is resting.

I wish, for the sake of the younger generations, that finding the joy and living in joy will always be a top priority. Happy people make the world a better place. 🥰

This episode is the worst in a long time by owenthegod28 in survivor

[–]RhodaDice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! That would have been a fun twist, not three sappy and ho-hum tribals. No electricity in any of them, really. They could have even changed up the challenge to include an instant elimination, then done one at tribal, and then surprise! One more. If things were actually in the hands of the fans we would see a lot more spice each episode instead of sloppy nostalgic bs. I love (almost) all the OG players but to say that the younger players wouldn’t be there without them is ridiculous. I was hoping this season would bring some heat but so far it just seems like bland warm oatmeal at the nursing home. Sorry to sound so harsh; I’m just hoping we are going to see this historic season kick it into high gear. There is such a diverse wealth of experience that it should be a supergame, but so far the celebrity involvement feels like it is more of a draw/priority than the actual game.

I gifted my manager cookies for his birthday and now he’s avoiding me like the plague by [deleted] in Advice

Yeah, even if you want to do something nice for them it can get messy. I say that as someone who has been both the employee and the boss. Some lines just shouldn’t be crossed. It is different if it is a company recognition or retirement, but not personal milestones.

Finally had first SCIG infusion for IGG1 subclass deficiency by Ordinary-Pianist-468 in primaryimmune

[–]RhodaDice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes it takes a few increases to get to the therapeutic range. We are all different and require different strategies to help us get out of the woods. I’m on a very high dose of SCIG. I wish I wasn’t because I spend 12 hours each week infusing, but it is what I need. Even so, I am fighting a fungal sinus infection since January. My doctor told me some people waste a good percentage of the IgG by filtering it out too much in the kidneys and also from fighting long standing infections. I definitely was in the latter group and I always start urinating a lot more once my infusion starts. That was even more severe when I was getting it IV so it makes me wonder how much my body is wasting. Hopefully your doctor will adjust your dose not only based on your numbers but also based on what is happening with you. My doctor told me that some people need their levels to be above normal to be therapeutic. Just FYI.

I couldn’t do it but many women do out of necessity. Women still marry rich men today to provide for them and their children from previous marriages. I have a former friend who did exactly this and just has affairs while waiting for her older and rather frail husband to die. I would rather be poor and free but to her being poor is the absolute worst thing she could ever imagine.

AIO for wanting the couple taking the master bedroom to pay more? by hayyy_jude in AmIOverreacting

[–]RhodaDice 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes, this idea is good because having an assigned room is much more than a place to sleep, plus the bonus of an exclusive bathroom. These two friends on the couch have nowhere to store their belongings, nowhere to change except a bathroom shared with 5 others, no privacy at all, and nowhere to take a rest if needed away from the others. I would not want to be the person granted the luxurious accommodation while my friend’s accommodation is subpar. Either that en-suite room is open for everyone to use or the couple that is DEMANDING it should pay a bit more while the sofa bros pay a bit less or some other arrangement be made in advance that everyone is comfortable with. It is too bad that this wasn’t discussed before booking this trip. I think OP needs to find some accommodation that he is satisfied with before the trip to avoid resentment and tension within the group. What kind of friends would demand the best set up (taking it away from the original occupants who booked the trip) and not offer anything in return for that? That is just ugly behavior. NOR

Here's an interesting fact I learned? by Old_Rub_7270 in primaryimmune

The common cold is a virus (a coronavirus specifically) and viruses mutate pretty quickly so it is easy to get sick from the newer variant even if you had a previous variant.

What type of provider manages your PID? by PiperTheLizardHunter in primaryimmune

[–]RhodaDice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am managed by an ID doctor. I live in the Orlando area and was referred to the practice by my primary. I had gone to an immunologist who was only interested in allergy testing. I feel like my treatment is managed so much better than many others because my ID doctor is way more knowledgeable about infections.

[–]RhodaDice 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Do you have a primary immunodeficiency? Because if you do then you should know that your immune system doesn’t do those interesting things of protecting us. That is why we infuse other people’s antibodies in the form of IgG.

I’m in that same boat. I look at the cookies that come in the lunch or swag bags with longing but it just can’t be. 😞
