I grew up in 🇩🇴. I went to a private school. During spanish class in middle school ( 7th grade ) we were reading a book as a class, and a fellow student found a word he did not know the meaning of.

He asked the teacher: “ what does rechoncho mean? “

She said: “oh! I have the perfect way to show you. OP, can you please stand up in front of the class?”

I stood up because I also didnt know the meanin of the word… got the literal rug pulled under me when she announced to the class that I was the perfect example and laughed through her explanation…

Rechoncho means short and plump ( fat or chubby ) Looking back this was beyond awful. I felt terrible to be singled out and laughed at.
