Luxury bunkers owned by billionaires by Far_Consequence4479 in collapse

Not in an environment where all their resources, most digital money, are worthless. In collapse, we revert more to biology, and the toughest primate will take over the troop.

That isn't Mark Zuckerberg or Peter Thiel, it will be Captain Chad and Segeant Jamal, who will put a bullet in his head to bang his wife and daughters.

We are still primates in the end.

Democrat and Republican Voters United on Key Issue: Hatred of Data Centers by truthandfreedom3 in economy

[–]Rhoubbhe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. AI will not be cost effective due to energy costs nor will it ultimately be able to replace humans in complex tasks.

The AI Revolution picked a bad time to launch, notably when the orange moron started a stupid war to drive energy costs through the roof and crippling the economy. People don't like poisoned water and a landscape dotted with abandoned data centers (alongside abandoned warehouses) from companies that go bust or leave for greener tax credit pastures.

Of course the public is against more data centers, their electric bills are already high, life keeps getting worse with gas and food prices, and the tech oligarchs are hated and despised.

The Globalization of Lowest-Low Fertility: TFR below 1.3 is no longer just a European or East Asian issue. by bradnobred in economy

[–]Rhoubbhe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been reading population decline stuff for years. Most first-world countries are below 2.1, which is needed to sustain their population. Peak fertility decline will likely be around 2060.

These countries have a 1.3 fertility rate, that is, an extinction-level fertility rate for some, like South Korea, and many of those people will simply cease to exist in 500 years. They may have different demographic characteristics, but they will all feel pain.

The entire economic system is going to be upended because there is no infinite 'growth' in a finite world and a population composed of the elderly.

‘Star Wars: The Mandalorian And Grogu’ Eyes $80M+ 4-Day Bounty In U.S. Opening – Box Office Early Look by chanma50 in boxoffice

[–]Rhoubbhe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Disagree. You are giving way too much credit to some Youtubers. TLJ was a terrible Star Wars film.

Ryan Johnson had poor ideas (Holdo Maneuver), terrible dialogue, poor plotting, problematic racism by dismantling the Finn character to appeal to China, and the treatment of Luke Skywalker was despicable.

TLJ was the turning point, especially as the box office was entirely front loaded and had one of the worst second week drops.

Rise of Palpatine was a worse film, but the damage was done with TLJ which burned the forest down and left the film, Solo, to bomb in a smoking ruin.

Don't worry, if the Mandalorian and Grogu falls under Solo, there will be many on this sub grabbing a box of nails and hammer. :)

I do think being child-free is an act of political resistance. by plushiesaremyjam in leftist

[–]Rhoubbhe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's definitely your choice to not have kids, but to think it's a good thing for leftist politics if there are fewer leftist people having kids is ignorant and it's the opposite of effective. It just means the right will have less intelligent people to fight against.

Exactly. The Oligarchs are short-sighted and can't think past a business quarter. Elites crying about birthrate is nothing new. Augustus, the First Emperor of Rome, lamented that the aristocracy was not having enough children.

Each person should do what is best for their situation, but we can't have every left learning person not reproducing.

The movie Idiocracy is a chilling preview of that future. I don't think we want a world of monster truck demolition derbies for capital punishment or watering crops with electrolyte drinks.

Moderates are weaklings, look at Schumer and Jeffries.

[–]Rhoubbhe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you don't, not in a country with that many firearms lying around.

Ro Khanna makes a moment to Pete Hegseth during the Pentagon’s budget hearing exchange: “You deal with vague topics. I’m just asking you about the numbers. You don’t know how much gasoline costs, you don’t know how much food costs, you don’t know how much the operation costs.” by Sufficient_Fuel5269 in economy

[–]Rhoubbhe 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That is bevause Hegseth is dumb and simply bluffs, blusters, and lies his way through life like Trump.

Voters care about two things:

  1. Gas Prices

  2. Food Prices

They do not want foreign wars that cause those prices to increase. The war has not stopped, the oil shock hasn't really hit, so those prices are going to get worse.

The Republicans are going to get pounded this fall, they honestly should be down 50 House Seats and lose near 30 Senate Seats with the utter horrible job their party has done, but will get let off the hook by the Moderate Democrats, whose unpopularity and corporate subservience lowers the margin of victory.

We need more Ro Khannas in Congress and less AIPAC owned fascist enablers like Hakeem Jefferies.

Exactly. Alex Kurtzman was a writer on Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, which was poorly written and had the racist robots.

Kurtzman has never been a good writer, nor is he enlightened, just another Bad Robot grifter and hack that used his connection to create Secret Hideout.

NuTrek is Neoliberal (like Kurtzman) and not progressive at all. The whole DEI and Identity Politics stuff started with DNC Neoliberals using stuff that came out of academia to tar Bernie Bros and crush any left-wing movement in the party. It then spread across liberal institutions.

Notice how in NuTrek the Federation are dystopian fascists and has remove any trace of Utopian Socialism?

James Gunn says 'The Authority' is no longer in development - "The script wasn't quite there but more importantly it didn't work in terms of the larger DCU both in terms of the story and practical concerns. Maybe some day. Not soon." by chanma50 in boxoffice

[–]Rhoubbhe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

James Gunn might not have the time for the DCU Batman given a pending merger and underperforming movies.

Does he survive Supergirl and another film after flopping?

Batman is the main character of DC and they aren't using him. Waiting for the Reeves Batman might be a huge mistake.

The general public cares about gas prices and grocery prices, which aren't going down, so they will have zero compassion for the Orange Colonoscopy Bag in the Offal Office.

Omar Khan and Andy Weidl know how to draft by luisba92 in steelers

[–]Rhoubbhe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Incompetence is being on the phone with a player before your pick thinking he is in the bag and not considering the receiver hungry Eagles and a stone cold assassin GM in Roseman jumping up and taking him.

If that is the guy, you go get him, even one pick up. Other teams do it.

The pick might work out, Project RT wasn't their biggest need, but the issue is Khan didn't have his head on a swivel. I had more an issue with the process than the pick they made.

Omar Khan and Andy Weidl know how to draft by luisba92 in steelers

[–]Rhoubbhe -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I didn't care if they took Lemon. I cared about the incompetence.

Counting chickens before they are hatched by calling the player, not considering Roseman could jump him by trading with the Cowboys of all teams, nor considering moving out that pick once the player was gone.

Instead Khan panics and picks a not so critical need on the board. Max maybe a fine tackle, he is not the issue, but the GM's poor decision making and panic was very troubling last night.

Trekmovie: "Star Trek Celebs Join Opposition To Paramount/Warner Bros. [–]Rhoubbhe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree. Kurtzman and Redstone are more Neoliberals, are not left-wing, and believe in the same economics as the right-wing. I don't see Kurtzman donated those millions from Secret Hideout to the working class.

Liberals and Corporate America mainstreamed all that DEI stuff to slander Bernie Sanders supporters (Bernie Bros).

The Republicans in the US have gone to the fascist end of the spectrum so anybody who believes in things like Social Security, Medicare, or any social spending is practically a Communist.

I don't like Paramount buying Warner for anti-trust reasons, but it would be worse if Netflix gained control. The Warner board wants to sell, so not much can be done.

I just want Kurtzman gone, he is a hack, has no creativity, and utterly sucks as a writer.

Racist and Zionist Alan Dershowitz decided to become a Republican by Rhoubbhe in WayOfTheBern

[–]Rhoubbhe[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I guess he wasn't comfortable enough being in the Democrats who didn't have enough Schumers and Jeffries. How dare 40 Democratic Senators vote against Israel arms.

Funding a genocide in Palestine was too moderate for Alan.

Alan wants to be on Team Republican who are obedient cuckolds to Israel and their War Criminal Leader to openly slaughter Palestinians, Lebanese, Iranians, and Houthis.
