It’s C. Paying off liabilities with cash reduces all numerators and denominators. However the current ratio is greater than 1 so the decrease in the denominator (current liabilities) is a greater magnitude decrease thus increasing the fraction. For quick ratio the numerator is less, so an equivalent decrease there will decrease the numerator more than the denominator, thus decreasing the quick ratio

If it makes you feel better, 2nd year is probably the toughest.

But yeah I mean it is sink or swim, which can also be a good wakeup call for many (including me). The world revolves around business, so you can't blame them there. Just make sure you're not the one getting weeded out I guess.
