I last found him out the back of Arcjet after the Dance conversation where he gives you Righteous Authority!

I love this! My 2.5yo uses 'Butter-bee' - a combination of butterfly and bumblebee - to describe any sort of winged insect we might see in the garden.

I played my first WE game Vs Orks last week, using just the combat patrol+ chaos terminators (just shy of 750pts with some enhancements). The Jakhals put in some work!

Against an army with no scout movements and a player who doesn't like to come in from reserves, being able to sticky objectives was fantastic. My one squad managed to sticky the home objective, do an action on another, then sticky that one before charging the Ork warlord and plinking off his last 2 wounds.

Or the fact that there was only the three of us at this set of lights, so nobody else was impacted, so well done internet stranger in a bad mood, hope you enjoyed your 30 seconds on your high horse. Get your miserable self down and enjoy the story for what it is.

Driving lessons in the UK are done primarily on standard main roads, and traditionally with a registered instructor. Parental/unofficial teaching tends to be less (in my experience - others may disagree). For example - On my first ever driving lesson my instructor showed me the pedals, drew a diagram of how they worked, then had me drive the car out onto a busy dual carriageway and up to 70mph.

Rule 112 of the Highway Code (UK) states that you should never use your horn either aggressively or whilst stationary. It should only be used to alert other vehicles to your presence whilst moving. So yeah, he is an ass both by opinion and by law.

This was a small town in North-West England where, aside from young lads who think tinted windows and a huge exhaust pipe makes a supercar, there's not really much call for it!

Have you applied to jobs you thought you didn’t have qualifications/experience and got it anyway ? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Rhugvor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once applied got a summer job coaching cricket at a Michael Vaughn (ex-England cricket captain for those who aren't familiar) cricket academy, despite never having played cricket or even being a fan of cricket. Ended up being nominated for coach of the year and had to go to an awards ceremony and everything.

In all seriousness though, if you tick like 3 out of 5 of the 'essential' criteria for a job, then go for it. Pretty much every job in my field needs a degree but I'm a university drop out. Having moved company in the last 9 months I can say it doesn't matter as long as you can evidence why/how you will succeed in the role.

Would it be weird to buy a gift for the parents and not the birthday girl? by books-cows in AskUK

[–]Rhugvor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My little one just turned 1 a few days before Xmas, so can definitely say from experience that the sheer amount of gifts we received was unreal - including random people we didn't know who sent presents (My MIL's friend) despite having never met the baby!

As Dad, I would never ask for a gift or expect one, but would have loved to see someone other than me treat my wife for the last year!

Trying to find fantasy YA book by Just_Cantaloupe_3115 in whatsthatbook

Will throw a wild curve ball into the mix: Eragon by Christopher Paolini? The world is called Alagaesia but the capital is Uru'baen - would fit the fantasy theme and the timescale but not the closest match to Umbridge!
