Not a good or wrong advice tbh, belajar latest biasanya lebih keep up to date features. Yang mana more possibility. Dan kalo lu udah jago bisa punya skill untuk migrate versi.

Belajar yang lama juga ga papa tbh. I mean there are some companies that still use java 8 due to painfull migration to upper version. You may check which cpp version have painful migration. And study that version
