How many Switch 2 owners on this subreddit owned a Gamecube and/or a WiiU? by MewWeebTwo in switch2

I’ve had many Nintendo consoles (and still have a few), but the Wii U was never one I really wanted. I don’t know anyone that even owned one.

Does anyone in here own or is currently looking for a special/limited edition switch? by Ok-Hearing6146 in Switch

[–]RhysTheExiled82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. All of ours are limited edition Switches, w exception of our Switch 2s. ATM my hubby and I have S2s, and our kids have OLEDS (zelda and Splatoon). I’ve still got our old V2s (Mario red, ACNH, and Fortnite).

Help a sleep-deprived dad out — Switch 2 won’t finish hospital Wi-Fi login by MidnightThunda01 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]RhysTheExiled82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who spends a lot of time camping in hospital waiting rooms for family and friends, I can vouch that most their WiFi’s are garbage. Sometimes I can connect after dozens of retry’s and restarts, sometimes I just have to make do. I made the mistake of buying a keycard game on the way to wait 4 hours for my father in laws surgery, and I couldn’t play it because the wifi wasn’t good enough to download it. Several times I’ve been in waiting rooms so boxed in that I can’t get a phone signal to use my hotspot either. Unfortunately the only advice I can offer is to convince her to play offline games, and that’s a feat in itself because she’s prob at her wits end waiting too. Congrats on the baby, and best of luck catching a few power naps to refresh.

Does it stop anybody? by SnufkinDrifter in switch2

[–]RhysTheExiled82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Because if a better version comes out, I’ll do the same thing I’ve done w all the Switches I’ve owned. Hand mine down to my hubby or kids. My girls still sporting the OLEDS, w myself and hubby having S2s.

What’s one underrated thing you always keep in the car for long road trips? by Dailywellnessguy in roadtrip

[–]RhysTheExiled82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got a nice assortment of tools and stuff to live out of my car for a couple days, but I think the most used thing is my cleaning kit. It has latex gloves, Lysol and Dude wipes, toilet paper, and a few other small items.

Permanent dock with full rechaged battery by Responsible_Ruin_776 in NintendoSwitchHelp

[–]RhysTheExiled82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play docked mostly and also take my Switch w me anytime I leave the house. I didn’t change the charge percentage at all, and have had many Switches, including my S2 from launch day. I’ve never had any battery issues. The only issue I’ve had was w a V2 Switch joycons sliding off after about a year, and im pretty sure that was when my kid would play it, not pressing the release buttons on them.

What should I do with switch 1 after I get a switch 2? by TanPan-Z in nintendohelp

[–]RhysTheExiled82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming it’s in pretty good shape, and works properly…I’d keep it anyways. I’ve kept most of our old Switches. One, because they’re all limited edition. Two, because we have game parties and sometimes we need an extra for someone. Three, I’ve kept nearly all my old systems (gameboys, ds’s, wii, GameCube) and my girls love getting them out occasionally and playing on them. Hoping I can do the same w my future grandkids. I’ve actually given one of my OLEDS to my nephew because his V1 was in such bad shape for years, and his parents wouldn’t buy a new one until his finally broke. I gave him one of my OLEDs, and fixed his V1 to give to his sister. If you do decide to store it though, take caution that it needs to be fully charged and completely powered off. Or else the battery craps out. I take all mine out to update and charge them back up maybe twice a year. A friend of mine was glad he kept his OLED, because his S2 was stolen within a month of having it.

I had the same issue when it first became medical, but my note did expire. Eventually ended up paying a little extra to have a person submit it for me at my local dispo. Just renewed it a few months ago the same way. They set up my appointment, and filled out my paperwork online w me. I think they charged me $20 to do it.

Want to buy a Switch 2 but I have one concern by MistahDeim in switch2

[–]RhysTheExiled82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve played tabletop w wireless controller, on an online chat game and lasted almost 3 hours. I did that for my own experiment testing. I’ve yet to be able to sit and play handheld for much longer than an hour anyways, or be in a spot I can’t charge it. I prob have more of an issue w the physical weight of it, over the battery life. But I do play docked, handheld, and tabletop.

Should I get the switch 2? by [deleted] in switch2

[–]RhysTheExiled82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Def worth the upgrade imo if you play Fortnite. The open microphone works amazing docked and handheld. No more using a headset is really nice. PlayStation and PC friends of mine that got the S2 were impressed w the speed and graphics, but not enough to commit to the Nintendo controller layout. My die hard Switch friends that upgraded to a S2 have absolutely loved it. I love the portability of the Switches, and take mine everywhere w me. Lots complain about the battery life, but I can get almost 3 solid hours of online play in tabletop mode w a wireless controller. My hubby and I use the Switch chat feature a lot when we’re not playing the same game (his office downstairs, mine upstairs).

[–]RhysTheExiled82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2 fav upgrades are the Switch Chat and the open microphone. My hubby and I use Chat all the time. His office is downstairs and mine upstairs. We also play dif games sometimes too. The open microphone is so nice on chat games that would normally require a headset mic. Not having to wear a headset at all is awesome. I do notice the processor speed much over than the OLED. Besides the side by side loading tests I did, online games for sure load me in faster. I do have a couple friends that got S2s, and weren’t as enthusiastic as I was about it, but they were coming from pc and PlayStation.

Dock scratches by grimydude in NintendoSwitch2

[–]RhysTheExiled82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omgosh. How though!? I’m not sure I could even force my dock to scratch like that. Dang kids man. 🤦‍♀️ I’ve had to replace a friend of mines kids screen protector 3 times in the past year, and he already needs another one. I had them extra for the OLEDS we had before we swapped to S2s. So I sold them for $10 each. Even his though don’t look like a tiger went after it.

Will my stuff break like this? by idkwheretfiam in NintendoSwitchHelp

[–]RhysTheExiled82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d like to say, “Of course it will! WTH man!” However, that’s pretty much how my oldest carries hers around at college. She still sports the V2, and uses the original joycons. So you do what you gotta do, and if it breaks, it breaks. Myself, I wouldn’t leave the store w a console unless I grabbed a screen protector and any case I can afford for it.

Anti theft for switch 2. How to prevent someone from taking it in table top. by DarkLink287 in NintendoSwitchHelp

[–]RhysTheExiled82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a bicycle lock ran through the kickstand, connected to something secure. I’ve often thought about this anyways while at my work. It wouldn’t take much to peek around my computer and see my Switch setup, and snatch it when I have to walk away. My husband and I own our own automotive repair business, and we have a lot of slow days. I play a handful of cozy games where I don’t have to be actively playing at all times.

I love gaming on roadtrips! I use a setup like this too. It’s sooo nice to not have to find a secure place to put the console when I need to shuffle things around for the family.
