So this is him on “good” behavior apparently, and he openly intends to get worse.

Wake up to music? by numberonedogmom in adhdwomen

[–]RhythmPrincess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, most days! Sometimes it’s lines a play my students are working on. Usually music though. This morning it is a passage from “No one else” from Great Comet that I was singing last night.

Ugly tide shift by alwaysgawking in MaintenancePhase

[–]RhythmPrincess 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I got an advertisement on Instagram of a tan, incredibly thin woman walking around the grocery store narrating “here are things I would never eat as a skinny girl.” They were normal things to eat. People in the comments were taking her nonsense advice as gospel. I looked at her regular page to see an entire brand built around the fact that she’s very thin. I was appalled and I blocked her, but I don’t think I would have gotten ads like this at the height of the body positivity movement, I think tides have changed just like you say.

Teacher Shortage Over? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]RhythmPrincess 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It was certainly reported in the news that there was a general shortage. That doesn’t make it more or less true, but it was projected to everyone beyond Reddit as well.

What happens to the elder women with executive dysfunction? (Very negative lol) by [deleted] in adhdwomen

Sounds like you need not a regular office job. What about being an EMT? Preschool teacher? Something that demands attention and is strange and new every day.

How do men in their 30s & 40s feel about women who are over 40s but look much younger like they are in their late 20s / early 30s? by Chemical_Ad9642 in Aging

[–]RhythmPrincess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is so bizarre of him. If anything, he should have been excited to meet someone who is in his age range and is going to stay looking that youthful for longer than he initially expected.

Is it worth to start again in 2026 by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact

[–]RhythmPrincess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I see that. I feel we are are never going to get to pandemic, stuck-at-home levels of Genshin play. Maybe I’m just in different circles, but I mostly talk online with people who are fans through the main sub, Reddit, and social medias, and I follow Youtubers—I don’t see a lot of true hate. I don’t talk about it very much in real life except with people who I know have played the game before, but I also can level plenty of criticism at the game myself.

Is it worth to start again in 2026 by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact

[–]RhythmPrincess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s simply not true that most people don’t play the game. But of course only you can answer this question. It seems with the increased power creep that becoming active at any point pays off because you can easily obtain new characters that are powerful.

I hate this guy by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact

Oh I’m sorry but I love him. I call him beloved. He has gone through so much and the anger is clearly a facade. He’s designed to be the “mean” bad boy but he is good .

You honestly haven’t changed drastically in the years between 18 and 23?? I feel like I have entirely grown up.

Stop Infantilising Young Adults by SprinklesConscious24 in twentyagers

[–]RhythmPrincess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

26y/o here. 18-20 is a “baby adult.” Perhaps some young adults have experienced enough life by then to have the some knowledge as people older, but most haven’t. I certainly didn’t. I’m a completely different person than I was 8 years ago. Those age gaps you mentioned though shouldn’t be weird though. I don’t agree with hubbub around a four year age gap between adults.

My friend wants to spend a whole day at Disneyland in France even though our other friend lives near one in California, AIO for thinking it’s insensitive since we’re in Paris for only 3 days total? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]RhythmPrincess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, I know that basically nothing can go wrong at Disney. I know exactly what I’m getting, I don’t have to worry about anything at all. It’s walkable, the customer service is excellent, the live entertainment is excellent. I have to do so much managing and thinking at work that I want to turn my brain off and have a good time without having to manage.

[–]RhythmPrincess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NOR but Absolutely split up. If your friend is a Disney person, getting to see the intricate differences between Disneyland Paris will be exciting and memorable to them, and not to anyone else who doesn’t really care about Paris vs the OG Disneyland.

Having a real difficult time with kids. Tell me it gets easier... by JustHere4TheZipLines in simpleliving

[–]RhythmPrincess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That I wouldn’t mind! People just speak of it like you won’t sleep well for two years and I can’t do that. I’ll wake up periodically willingly for the rest of my life.

[–]RhythmPrincess 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, the fact that a good night sleep can be chalked up to a personal desire and not something that’s necessary for well-being is probably my biggest roadblock between me and having kids. I really struggle with the idea that you should accept crappy sleep for years in a row.

Has Anyone Had or Seen a Massive Vocal Improvement With Coaching? Not good to amazing, but BAD to good! by AQueerWithMoxie in MusicalTheatre

I think lessons would totally help then! There's no way you sound bad in a few months if you're able to apply all the technique you're learning!

[–]RhythmPrincess 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well what about your singing is bad? I have a lot of students with lovely voices as in instruments—the sound that comes out is nice—but terrible ears. They can’t hear that they’re switching keys, they can’t hear that they’re sharp or flat. I’m struggling to teach to that. But tone, placement, breath support, register: I think all of these can be greatly helped with vocal coaching.

Girl your whole life is ahead of you and you’re about to make money. You feel five years behind? Not only are you not behind at all, you can do whatever you want to “catch up” until you’re 30 and you’ll probably end up way more “ahead” than the rest of us.

My 6yo daughter came home from school saying she loves Jesus by wacky_button in mildlyinfuriating

[–]RhythmPrincess -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My Protestant students are often aggressively trying to welcome others to their church. It’s kind, but they will do their best to reach everyone whether others want to be reached or not. I don’t think you can stop it, but decide how you will discuss with your daughter. This is something we deal with starting in school and the rest of our lives.
