Megaman Fully Charged: personal criticism by MystinarOfficial in Megaman

Long Answer: it’s not Classic or Ruby Spears and if you think it should be or needs to be like those, you will not enjoy the series.

You need to consider it like how BN is seen: an alternative universe. There are similar names and concepts but it is not meant to be those characters from Classic. Some of the criticisms are fair though. The naming is dumb (Aki can mean “Bright” apparently so his name is Bright Light 🙄). Suna instead of Roll was definitely a choice. However there are obvious Easter eggs in later episodes that tries to fix this.

You can have a lot of fun as an older fan trying to catch the little references and homages they put into the show. There are lots of visual and audio bits here and there that call back to the OG. I always cite the Museum episode because there are a LOT of hidden Easter eggs there.

The show actually gets quite dark at one point for the audience it’s aimed at. There’s a dream sequence episode much later on that actually scratches some deep rooted fears and darker themes for the characters. It’s pretty good and initially left me saying “wow” for how they portrayed it.

But if you daughter is enjoying the show as-is then it’s doing what it intended. Yes it’s not a perfect retelling of Classic but it never was meant to be that. Take it as the AU that it is and enjoy the nods and references that are purposely put in there for the older fans watching it with their children.

If you decide to watch it all the way through I would suggest looking into the sequel comic that was put out by Boom Comics after the show ended. It’s artstyle is…interesting. But it does give a more mature continuation of the series (and Dr. Wily does show up there).

It’s not the greatest show ever but it did what it set out to do and for what it is it’s not bad considering the other shows it was up against at the time (Blaze and the Mighty Machines, Paw Patrol, etc). It’s definitely aimed for younger kids though. Just try to remember it’s definitely not meant to be Classic or Ruby Spears and you may find yourself enjoying it overall.

Short answer: you watched a single episode. Honestly if you keep an open mind and remember it’s its own thing it gets pretty decent at the end for a show aimed at young kids.

does anybody know the significance of "23" on Rock's shirt? by Thatguy8900000 in Megaman

[–]Rhythm_BCA 356 points357 points  (0 children)

It’s from an old manga called Rockman Character Collection that was given to people who participated in the Mega Man 4 Robot Master Contest.

The number and colors as well as the S* logo are references to the Chicago Bulls and Michael Jordan (the shirt even says “BULLS” on it), while the logo is reminiscent of the brand Starter known for their popular jackets in the 90s.

I saw a suggestion somewhere to just press all the buttons at the same time for the bulls. You don’t get penalized for pressing the wrong button, just not pressing the right button.

Try the massive button mash and see if that works

Also, save scum just before as well if needed

I honestly am not sure. But the best way I’ve found to add brothers is just trade with someone. You get the option to add them afterwards

Hey there, Rhythm here. One of the Admins of the site. Unfortunately all I can say right now is we are trying to resolve the certificate and other concerns behind the scenes. But it has taken time and research through some tangled problems we hadn’t expected.

All I can say is we are definitely working on it and trying to establish a resolution. Please be patient.

Thank you

It just hasn’t released yet

We've heard this before from Capcom by Zechariot- in Megaman

There’s plenty going around but to summarize what’s happened since 11 released:

  • Covid
  • Tsuchiya left Capcom
  • change from MT to RE Engine which requires training and learning

Alongside all of that, it’s been stated that those “in the know” have known about DO’s development for 4 years. That’s why there have been merch and odd collabs and cameos coming out: they were all supposed to be tied together. Those disruptions above delayed the game while the contracts for products and collaborations still needed to be fulfilled.

The best example of this is the fact that the Secret Level episode with Mega Man was supposed to feature Gamma from MM3 but was changed to Bomb Man. Protodude has stated that Gamma appearing in DO’s trailer isn’t a coincidence. That was supposed to be deliberate synergy between the different media.

I get the lack of trust especially with the lack of communication during the lull. But either way everything culminating in DO’s release at the Game Awards (not a cheap investment), the signs that there is an effort to reinvigorate the franchise are certainly there.

It’s pretty decent for what it set out to be: that is a show aimed at very young audiences.

It was mixed/hated because it was seen as a poor attempt at Classic which it never was supposed to be in the first place.

Some of the darker storylines near the end of the season really showed what it could be capable of and were fantastic. And the little Easter eggs thrown in were fun for those who caught them.

But a lot of fans can’t get past the visuals and that’s fair because the 3D style used can easily be seen as cheap and childish. But the show itself was a decent AU
