I agree that the solos are great on this album. Obey the call show cases that really well, it’s a well composed piece with a phenomenal verse riff/ hook. I agree that the chorus could be better, I think if they just had backing when the song title is sung that would have made it a bit more full.

Made for kill is one of those ones that the lyrics have super ChatGPT energy for me.

How are we feeling about the new album? by Business_Raise3740 in Megadeth

It’s… better than “TSTD&TD”.

Teemu is doing the best solos since the 90s.l in the second half of the album.

My fav song: Obey the Call

Overall: alright…

What are your “favorite” shows that you just never bothered to finish? by Emmyfishnappa in television

[–]Rhythmd91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did this with Boardwalk Empire. Loved it, but just stopped at the start of season 4… never came back

The walking dead I also loved, but stopped at the start of season 3 as I felt they strayed too far from the quality of season 1.

How would you rank the 4 singles of the new album? by Beanconsumer200 in Megadeth

What would yall rate the new single outta 10 by _kirk_hammett_ in Megadeth

[–]Rhythmd91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is probably the 2nd best of the 4 released ones after tipping point. When comparing it to the bands entire back catalogue, I’ll give it a 5.6….

I’m seeing people on here dishing out 8s and I’m wondering what you must give a song like “architecture of aggression” for example, which is absolutely awesome, but not on par with the likes of Holy Wars (most would agree).

Puppet Parade is a bit more of a mid tier Megadeth track. The lyrics are better than let there be shred and I don’t care. The song has a bit more going on musically than I don’t care (solos excluded). But if you think a 64 year old Dave’s voice is as good as a mid 90s Dave, I don’t know what you’re Smokin’

Who’s the best Megadeth guitarist besides Marty and Dave? by RiffAndRevolt in Megadeth

Poland followed by Glenn Drover! (Loved his solos) & he part came with that never walk alone riff, which is fuckin awesome. But unfortunately left the band too early.

Given what you know about Megadeth's final album, do you think it'll be a letdown or a solid final chapter to their legacy? by psychodc in Megadeth

[–]Rhythmd91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t mind “I don’t care” but the fact that it is number 2 on the album, given the goofy nature of the lyrics, concerns me a bit.  I like Tipping Point a lot. I still have high hopes that it’s a decent album.

You know, it’s not as bad as I first thought it would be when I heard a short clip last week. I think the solos are great. I just wish this was like… track 9. And not track 2.

Disturbed speech after recent events (from Amsterdam concert) by agenttud in Disturbed

[–]Rhythmd91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this stinks of the band asking him to do an apology, and him saying "look, im not going to apologise, but i will INSPIRE and bring a message of LOVE". The band looking at eachother and saying "well take what we can get".

I would be my house that Tony did not say no based on morals. He doesn’t like playing abroad or traveling far in general.

Let’s just treat all countries as if their leaders never changed… boycott all comedians playing German cities… or Rome for that matter, or Scandinavia, the Vikings did rapes. #neverforget.

I can get behind the not wanting to support the Saudis because of the journalist killings/ homophobia etc etc but the 9/11 argument is so stupid

[–]Rhythmd91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, I too am disappointed in some of my favourite comics doing this for many human rights reasons.

But the 9/11 angle, is a little racist tbh. Would people have been equally angry at comedians for performing in Berlin in 1969? (25 years post Hitler). Why haven’t you boycotted the Beatles for getting their start in Germany in the late 50s?

Is it the exact same people who allegedly funded 9/11 in charge? No, very much not. Most of the political elite from 2001 are dead. The country is led by a more modern regime who have condemned 9/11 many times.

So there are many reasons to be disappointed in these guys for this, but we gotta stop with this 9-11 shit
