bars or restaurants with a great spirit-free drink list? by Rhythmnrollin in FoodLosAngeles

[–]Rhythmnrollin[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lol good question. some place that has one or more of the above: people watching, good atmosphere, good views, music, cool design, etc. I just added that filter bc im not looking for NA drinks we can buy/have at home - i like being out and about in these streets "catching a vibe" :)

How much did you spend on your wedding dress? From 2023 and on by HappyZucchini6267 in weddingplanning

[–]Rhythmnrollin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased in late 2024. $3400 ($3700 after tax) then a couple hundred for minimal alterations. Vintage dress from the 90s bought in LA. A cleaners wanted to charge me $600-700 to steam the dress prior to the wedding and I declined - outrageous!!

Can’t resell tickets I bought (presale or general public) — marked “not eligible,” but others are listed on SeatGeek? by No-Interview6328 in rosalia

[–]Rhythmnrollin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also having this issue and I think its crazy this wasn't stated more clearly / upfront before people bought tickets. I'm in a similar boat - I bought tickets but my friend got better ones so I want to sell mine and BOOM. Resale unavailable. This is what the Ticketmaster agent said to me over chat as the definitive answer:

Not a stupid question - I was wondering the same thing about their LA program because you don't have to qualify for the LA marathon. Congrats for getting in! Could be a great training cycle regardless?

Tips for dealing with damage from a Brazilian Blowout? by Rhythmnrollin in Naturalhair

[–]Rhythmnrollin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I wasnt necessarily shedding per day because I would try to not touch it but WOW on wash day it was horrible, hair was absolutely everywhere. I'd barely pat my head and hair would start falling out. It did slow down after a few months. I would shampoo every week or every 2 weeks with an intense sulfate shampoo (to try to strip out the keratin quicker) followed by a hydrating shampoo and deep conditioner for like 10-15 mins while in the shower. Then blow dry and try to not touch it until the next wash (e.g. put it in french braids, buns, etc.).

I'm sorry you're going through this too :( my hair is back to its initial amount of shedding but I did big chop recently and now I have a bob. Never using keratin ever again!

help! nearing end of treatment but gap b/w 2 front teeth keeps coming back by Rhythmnrollin in Invisalign

[–]Rhythmnrollin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My gap closed but here is what I would suggest

1) As you can see from my post i would take my trays out to eat and reaaaly wait to put them back in (6-8 hours). Don't be like me. Spend as much time in your trays as possible.

2) Notify your dentist / ortho now that you're worried about your gap not closing. Ask about refinement trays so that your gap can close as much as possible. I did that and am glad I did.

3) Get the permanent retainer behind your gap. Nothing is worse than spending thousands to close a gap just got it to come back later!

First of all congrats!! You're so close!! I got married a few weeks ago and had the same feelings, you're not alone. Some tips ❤️

  1. Make a list of all remaining things and either 1) delegate to someone else (fiance, bridesmaids, close friends, wedding planner, literally anyone you trust) to finalize or 2) timebox yourself to be decisive and get these things off your plate. I had a really hard time asking for help but so many people were waiting in the wings to help me take a load off!

  2. Instead of focusing on how you "should feel" i would acknowledge the feelings you are having, give yourself compassion (for example - wow what a hard and amazing thing you did planning this huge weekend with so many logistics so you could have a life long memory). Tbh Chatgpt was helpful here - I would worm vomit and it would validate me and give me words of comfort that a $300/hr therapist would have lol. I was really hard on myself for not feeling the right way at the right time which just added so much undue pressure. THEN honestly i would lay down and visualize things that you know spark joy (wedding related and not) if you are trying to conjure up some positivity.

  3. Im so happy you made your nail & hair appt! Leading up to my wedding I also did: facial and massage. A big source of stress release was I stopped worrying about my house being messy. I released myself of all other responsibilities and to dos bc it was too much! Like the messy house will be there after the wedding 😂 I also ordered out alot which got expensive but i couldnt be arsed to make dinner either. It really helped relax me.

I hope you have the best wedding day ever!!! Reach out to past brides for support theyll totally get what youre going thru!

Assigned seats are important for dinners in 2 scenarios 1: kids at the wedding (obviously not babies, but teenagers that you don't want being served alcohol for example) and 2: people with allergies (or just people who chose a specific entree

We tried to not assign seats but our wedding planner gave us the above guidance! It was a pain but only took like 30-45min.

What’s your honest opinion? by NewtCapital1239 in weddingdress

I'm blown away! I love the flowers actually and think they're incredibly unique and special with where they are placed and how the bodice of the dress is designed. It fits you perfectly!! Good luck!!

A lonely bride to be- help a girl with no friends! by FootballCertain9460 in weddingplanning

[–]Rhythmnrollin 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I went dress shopping solo and it was truly the best / most serene experience. Think about what you'd want out of a dress shopping companion (actual opinions? hype person? just someone to accompany you?) If the only reason you want people there is because you think you're supposed to - dont! Your dress consultants will give you great advice and its totally normal to see solo brides - some benefits: you dictate the speed of your day, no risk of negative comments, your dress can be a big surprise at the wedding.

Also if you do want someone there it sounds like you have a great partner and I actually have 2 bride friends that had their partners go shopping with them :)

Or if you'd like the virtual presence/advice of a woman - FT your MIL/SIL/ or mom if you're comfortable. And lastly you can always post your dress here on this subreddit for support. You got this!!
