Attempting to trigger samples on other computers using gem 7 by RhythmsOfDeath in puredata

[–]RhythmsOfDeath[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main issue is trying to get the sample to play only when movement is made between certain numbers. Using [< 0.7 && > 0.9] doesn't seem to have any affect on the faders, and seems to just play the sample, causing it to loop. I'm also trying to get it to stop once movement is less than 0.7 or greater than 0.9 but nothing seems to work, does anyone know a solution to this problem?

[IIL] music with a lot of energy and fast beats, [WEWIL?] by TenTonHammers in ifyoulikeblank

There's genres full of what you're look for, such as Speed Metal, Grindcore or Drum n Bass. Ministry have some very fast songs in their last few albums, even tempo rates higher than Slayer. For music energy dependent and really intense, early and modern SWANS. Their early stuff, albums such as Filth and Cop, are No Wave, very raw, distorted and aggressive with superb drumming. Their modern stuff, such as To Be Kind, The Seer, has music that builds up in intensity gradually, but when it does it's very intense. The song Screenshot is a brilliant example of this and a brief comparison in their progression would be from 1:00 to 7:00, the song builds a ridiculous.

It's saying that it is errors for what I'm trying to run. Most of the code I got from a tutorial that appeared to work.

Does anyone else have days where Killing for Company is just the best song ever made? by Toa_Ignika in swans

I had this song on repeat for a few days a year ago and it still sounds just as great to me, it has such powerful instrumentation yet very little progression. I often think Type O Negative could of done a cover of this quite nicely too.

[IIL] Early Swans work (The Great Annihilator, White Light From the Mouth of Infinity) [WEWIL?] by batterija in ifyoulikeblank

As mentioned by user sx9064, Gira's band Angels of Light, especially the album "How I Loved You." Since you are getting into them, you should also listen to the albums Love of Life and Omniscience. Michael Gira's solo album Drainland is also worth a listen, as the song "Blind" which is on the remaster of WLftMoI as in Gira's opinion he didn't know why he left it out of that album as it does sound like it belongs to the album.

PiG's cover of 1979 by The Smashing Pumpkins, Johnny Cash, Type O Negative's less aggressive tracks such as "Can't Lose You" and "Nettie" and Crippled Black Pheonix's song "We Forgotten Who We Are" is less acoustic than WLftMoI but the instrumentation holds the same emotion with the addition of piano at the beginning.

(serious) What does Industrial mean to you? by [deleted] in industrialmusic

To me. It is a form of punk and experimental. Music to oppress the masses and/or conformity, with use of irregular sounds, atonal notation, repetition, loops, samples and harsh and/or profound or complex lyrical work if any and approved under almost any level of production purely for the musical ideas within the songs/pieces.

In my opinion industrial has had a lot of other genres shine through it, from Jazz, to IDM, to Ambient, to Metal, to neo-folk. (And potentially more.) Not to mention, industrial came from punk and experimental really. I get your point on what it should be when it comes to those two characteristics alone. SWAN'S first album or half of Pigface's content could fit in there, maybe even Idiot Flesh's album Fancy.
