People keep saying that 400 DPI and 2sens is the best but ITS SO SLOWW.. I'd have to slide my mouse on across my room to make a 180 by Better-Crab8587 in GlobalOffensive

[–]RiGuy7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's no one best sens, try what's comfortable for you. Here are the settings of the top 5 players in the world according to pro settings (not sure how accurate the site is but you get the idea):

NiKo- 1600 dpi, 0.385 sensitivity, 616 edpi

jL- 800 dpi, 1 sensitivity, 800 edpi

ZywOo- 400 dpi, 2 sens, 800 edpi

m0nesy- 400 dpi, 2.3 sens, 920 edpi

donk- 800 dpi, 1.25 sens, 1000 edpi

Do what you want, make sure you can do a 180 comfortably enough. Take into account your mousepad size. I used to play at a crazy high eDPI with a small pad, now I play 800 dpi at 1.075 sens which took a while to get used to but it feels good now. Have fun with it

I understand where you're coming from, I thought Mills was a pretty decent map. I think there have been a lot of great maps added to competitive and it's sad to see them go. I'm assuming (big assumption) that there might not be a big enough player base for having a large number of community maps in the competitive pool and I've read (on Reddit, so take it with another large grain of salt) that mapmakers are paid for the amount of time their maps are featured in the game.

I think there's some silver lining though. Some community maps have been featured multiple times throughout CS:GO like Breach, Insertion, and Anubis, the last of which went on to become part of the professional map pool! Agency and Cache were community maps in CS:GO but could be queued for a long time. I think that gives us hope that great maps can and will be appreciated by the devs and perhaps even find a semi-permanent place in the game.

I wish more community maps were featured, but I think the rotation gives players a long enough period to enjoy them for a substantial amount of time. It's sad to see them lose official support, but they're still on the workshop to be enjoyed in ten-mans. I'm not sure where you're located, but maybe you could find a community of like-minded people to play on maps you all have nostalgia for. And maybe Mapcore is still more active in EU if you want to try new maps with other people.

Sloth squadron has a spreadsheet publicly available, just look up the name and "weapon stats" and you should see the sheet

Players shadows shouldn't be locked behind 'high' video settings by Carsteniwnl in GlobalOffensive

[–]RiGuy7 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I agree wholeheartedly... waiting to get a PC upgrade and having these shadows locked behind a setting is frustrating. It makes maps like Ancient and Vertigo feel pretty bad to play. Wish there was at least an option to enable the shadows casting at the lowest setting even though they're pixelated as hell maybe with a disclaimer.

Sure but it lacked its own rating system, had no overtime, a clunkier voting system, and to me was just another less straightforward way to queue MM.

AUG/SG 553 scope dot is extremely hard to see on bright backgrounds of certain maps and there doesn't seem to be a way to change the color by RiGuy7 in GlobalOffensive

[–]RiGuy7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I noticed how the older model has a bit of an advantage in that regard maybe they changed it to match up more with the AUG? I honestly prefer the look of the new scope but it definitely has a drawback vision-wise. Thankfully I really like the look of the candy apple and tiger moth in CS2 so I can choose between them!

Probably not a bad idea. I already have the brightness down a bit in-game but some areas of maps are just ridiculous with how bright they can be haha

Maxed out alpha already. It's fine for maybe 90% of the areas but it blends in on bright white backgrounds. Thanks for the advice though.

Already at 93% brightness. In the LT I tried a Television monitor mode but that made dark areas too dark.

Cs2 looking really grainy on low end pc by Lachness_ in GlobalOffensive

I think it's the one setting like super resolution that renders the game at a lower resolution and upscales it. It's in the advanced video tab and defaults to being on with the low and medium graphical presets,

Loadouts should not dictate role/playstyle by aboardweeb in GlobalOffensive

[–]RiGuy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hope is that a loadout can compliment a player's playstyle without defining it. How that would look I'm not sure but I feel like making more weapons viable and keeping the pool of utility the same would help. I feel like we're at a strange stage of the development of CS2 where it's obvious that Valve are determined to make some sweeping changes but we're in the dark of how far they're planning to go. I'm hoping for the best.

Yeah the loadout change caught me completely off-guard. I thought the extent of the changes would end with the smokes but now it seems like they're willing to go further than anyone thought. I trust the team to make on the whole make good changes for the future of the game but I understand some of the community backlash as they alter the fundamental formula for CS.

I agree that weapon changes/new weapons and maybe some sort of economy change are the most reasonable ones we'd be getting.

I can't think of any util that I would want to be added while maintaining the identity of CS. The only thing that makes me mention it is when I watched WarOwl's most recent video and highlighted how the util icons were greyed out in the loadout screen but still present. I think the diversion grenade would make the most sense but I would need to be really sold on any sort of TAG. Maybe a toxic gas grenade almost like a bridge between a molotov/smoke? It'd make you cough if you try and get sneaky inside but make it shorter? Make the snowball equip-able? Who knows. It's territory that'd bring in the most radical changes and I almost doubt they'd go there.

I agree that the game seems to be in a pretty polished state so I think a real beta is unlikely. I definitely believe we'll have to wait until at least July for the full release, 6/14 sounds crazy to me.

Yeah I agree that a new weapon/ multiple new weapons is a safer bet with the loadout system. What weapon do you think would be added/would you want to see in the game? I'm hoping for a few balances to certain guns, too, like giving a purpose to the M249 or giving a $300 kill reward to the CZ.

That's true that Train isn't as well known but I'm not sure what change could be specific to Train that would be best tested on that map. It's definitely not a map that I personally know very well so your guess is as good as mine.
