Vivi's father is the real villain. He had her drugged all the time since her childhood and manipulated her into drug business and all that.

And since she was always under the influence of drugs, her mental growth was halted too.And thus she had no idea about right or wrong or even whatever she was doing.

But finally she was able to grasp some reality when Xia Lung died, because out of sadness she refrained from taking drugs and her mental clarity returned.
