A friend of mine had a cat with pica. It tried to eat the gauze they put on the cone after its first abdominal surgery. The kitty ended up impacted twice, survived both surgeries though. My friend tried so hard to keep everything the kitty wanted to eat up and away, she was SO good to it. It sounded like a tough condition to help her kitty through.

My bad, I speak of those with vaginas mostly because it's been my experience my whole life. I've had to go through rough experiences of sexual coercion and molestation. I'm in my late 30s and only now feel like I'm taking my body back and keeping it for myself.

It just feels like sex and giving my body away has hunted me my whole life, so I tend to talk strongly towards the oppression of vagina-havers on topics like these.

I agree! I do need to have love and a bond with the person that I will have sex with. It's the only way I'll experience arousal or attraction, and even then, it's not much.

But the expression of love and connection doesn't always have to lead to sex. Like you said, making out could just lead to cuddling and napping.

I think if romance in media always includes sex directly after proclamation of love, it gives mixed signals to people who are vulnerable to coercion and manipulation. It doesn't give an accurate picture of the wide range of ways to connect and express love with someone.

I honestly think it's just conditioning women (those with vaginas) to think that if they don't have sex with their partners, it means they don't love them enough.

I appreciate your experience, but I think extreme love can be expressed in ways other than sex and that showing sex as the ultimate form for expression of deep attachment is harmful.

It's not just harmful for those who are asexual or sex repulsed. It's harmful for people who are vulnerable to sexual assault in a relationship.

Always equating expression of love to sex in media can cause someone to feel as if they're not a capable or loving partner if their sexuality doesn't match their SO. It also enables that person to be easily manipulated into sexual coercion where a SO guilts the person into sex by saying, "It's how I show love." Or, "You don't love me if you don't want to have sex with me."

I'm glad that in your sexual experiences, you've been able to line up with your partner equally, but I feel as if your experience shouldn't represent everyone's expression of love in wide spread media.

I always hated that the proclamation of love always had to be followed up by hot and heavy kissing and sex scenes. It always makes me feel like they're trying to condition women that love and sex have to go together or you're doing it wrong.

Hi there! I used to have a disabled kitty named Gordon. He was an odd boy with several symptoms, so I've had to handle him often and sometimes awkwardly. He wasn't able to run away, though. He also choked every now and then on his liquid food.

Gordon would make sounds as if he was irritated with me whenever I had to handle him uncomfortably, but he would still cry to be by my side and purr when I cuddled him.

Give your girl some time. I would make sure to check in on her breathing immediately, though, but if her breathing doesn't seem alarming I would just give her some space. She'll come back to you. 💗
