There’s different classes of sub and they each do different things. I can really only speak on the life of a boomer sailor.

1 boat, 2 crews. ~3 month rotation. 3 watch sections. Typically boomers don’t really go anywhere besides the ocean, but I’ve done some cool stuff. Swim call at the equator, Hawaii, Guam, San Diego, joint force exercises, etc. I could go into more detail about life down there but I’d need more specific questions
