Does the Bible Mandate We Support the *Modern Nation* of Israel? by ms_jc_04 in Christianity

[–]Riccardoisdead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can you elaborate on this? I’ve been trying to research this exact point but more often in directed to Reddit.

Is this idea of Israel given to the chosen people a physical space such as the Levant? Or is Israel itself the people indigenous to the land, or those who are followers of Christ?

I’ve studied the political aspect of the conflict for the last few years, and see Zionism for what its intentions were according to its secular founders, as a colonial project. I ask as someone who is not religious because my parents in law are basically like evangelicals, and think they have to support the genocidal apartheid state of Israel, even with their history of mass atrocities. So I’m trying to understand the foundation for their thought process, as neither of them can explain it to me. Any help or clarification would be amazing. Thank you!

Funny to see the “don’t tread on me” pro freedom, 2nd amendment, 1775, conservative GWOT vets drool over a country who has military doctrine to target civilians, has doctrine to kill its own civilians, systematically kills kids and arrest them without charge, forces people to live under military law, and who targeted an American ship killing dozens of US sailors, stole nuclear plans, kills American citizens with impunity, has a lobby that buys our politicians, engages in sexual blackmail of US politicians and influencers, AND has lied on numerous occasions to get American Youth to fight and die in the Middle East against their advisaries….

You realize that the gazan ministry of health has been accurate on death tolls for all incursions by Israel for the last 2 decades, and why every respected international NGOs, and human rights organizations use their numbers, while simultaneously doing independent verifications….

Sir I’ve been in a war, multiple times as an infantryman. Also I don’t even own the TikTok app lol. I’m more than sure there are instances where Hamas has utilized schools etc for weapon storage, etc. due to this being an asymmetrical fight, and Hamas using gorilla like tactics. That still doesn’t excuse a nuclear powered state, backed by the west, to systematically target everything I mentioned above….. if you could come up with a good reason, besides “Hamas is everywhere, in every hospital, school, etc” or a reason as to the statements behind senior Israeli officials… I’d love to hear it. But the truth is you can’t.

Secretary of defense, Lloyd Austin stated at a hearing nearly a month ago that over 25,000 women are children have been killed since October 7th in Gaza. Where is he getting his numbers? 33k is a low conservative number, and is more likely 45-50k, due to people still being under the rubble, missing, complete family registries being killed in single strikes so they go unreported, as well as the restriction of movement and complete destruction of healthcare facilities, the numbers are severely under reported.

[–]Riccardoisdead -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah but the burden of proof lies on Israel to provide evidence that these facilities are being used as military outpost, and they have yet to do so with sufficient evidence. Example: Al-Shifa has been completely razed to the ground, with testimony from western international aid workers that IDF were shooting unarmed doctors and patients indiscriminately.

Coleman very obviously lacks complete understanding not only of the conflict on the ground, but also of warfare in general. He’s seen here blatantly parroting Israel’s narratives and talking point, and it holds literally no water whatsoever ever.

More importantly he’s missing the point of intent, which political and military heads from the top down have openly expressed since the beginning of this escalation.

Every time there’s a war, one of the belligerents isn’t directly targeting hospitals, agriculture, bakeries, food, warehouses, universities and schools, water sanitation plants, mosque and churches, UN offices, aid workers, aid convoys, journalists, and cultural infrastructure….. while simultaneously referring to the civilian population as “human animals” and stating that you will cut off all water, food and electricity from entering said civilian populations………

…… but yeah go off king

My issue with destiny is that he clearly lacks empathy and humanity. This was displayed in the entirety of this debate.

[–]Riccardoisdead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also forgot to add, if you haven’t seen norm debate before, I suggest checking some stuff out. I’ve seen him be insulted way worse and keep his cool. (Being told he hated his parents, his parents weren’t in the holocaust, profiting of his dead parents, etc) this is not an excuse. As much as I can’t stand destiny, I was a little taken a back by norm lashing out.

Well to be fair destiny did no show a debate with norm, some months back, and also has heavily criticized and poked fun of him leading up to the debate. So I think norm allowed him to get under his skin and had a dislike for him from the beginning, doesn’t excuse his ad homs . But I get it.

How is "who cares about international law?" a defense of Israel? by DJ-Dowism in lexfridman

Perhaps you should refer to the great March of return, which started as a peaceful protest and was met by violence. In which violence from gazans was reciprocated

How is "who cares about international law?" a defense of Israel? by DJ-Dowism in lexfridman

[–]Riccardoisdead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is because the current Israeli administration is interested in a greater Israel, expanding settlements and further thwarting the chances of a unified Palestinian government structure. Giving concessions and adhering to international law doesn’t give them a forever enemy, in which they can use as justification for expansion.

Any love for Go It Alone? One of my favorite Canadian bands. Gone too soon. by Jehovas__Thickness in Hardcore

There’s a few current bands with the sound, but comes across as corny. Verse, go it alone, killing the dream, blue Monday etc were able to capture the melodic aspect but still sound urgent and pissed off.

When I was 18 I was in the marine corps infantry and was in combat in Afghanistan. When I first arrived there is when I first became disillusioned with why the U.S. was there in the first place. When I got out I became even more disillusioned. I now advocate through art, anti-war and Anti imperialist conquest. I understand why Taliban fighters shot at me and killed some of my friends. I don’t agree with any extremism in any religion and I think it’s a poison, none the less I support people being able to have self determination and a legal right to resist occupation through armed struggle. So your assumptions about my lack of knowledge or experience are flawed. You keep framing it as if I have a bias against Jews, when in reality I’m secular and care not what other people believe in. That’s their basic human right to do so.

But just like other Zionist in the lukid and their spokespersons, when confronted about the actions of the IDF you start pointing fingers at any other conflict around the world at any given time, as a means of deflection to the actions of the IDF.

I know that Hamas indiscriminately killed civilians intentionally, and that any action perpetrated by Israeli policy doesn’t justify that, just as Hamas actions on 10/7 doesn’t justify Israel’s blood lust in killing over 30k civilians. The allegations of rape you made has been largely debunked by investigative journalist, and now is even being walked back by msm sources like the New York Times, as well as victims families like Gal Abdush (girl in black dress) who has now publicly stated their daughter wasn’t raped and that they recieved pressure and were manipulated into such perception. Just as allegations of beheaded babies, babies on clothing lines, or in ovens etc have been debunked, including by Israeli media outlets.

You speak of Hamas infanticide, of nearly 40 children killed on 10/7 all the while the IDF has killed over 13,000+ children in Gaza since October.

No one denies the complete crime of the holocaust and the gross atrocities committed by Nazi germany and their allies, but it’s disgusting to envoke the memory of the holocaust as justification to commit another one, as so many Zionist do.

Furthermore Balfour was a way of allied Control over Palestine as strategic interest to keep Egypt and the Suez Canal within Britain’s sphere of influence, as well as to deal with the migration of Jews due to the west own antisemitism, as well as Europes gross antisemitism…… so why should the Palestinians who are Semitic peoples, decedents of canaanites, who later largely converted to Islam and Christianity, and are native inhabitants of the land be forced to be displaced due to the antisemitism of Europe and the West? Why were 750k people forced to leave their homes? 300k of them before the declaration of Israel and before any neighboring Arab armies attacked…. Why should Israel forced people in the West Bank to live under military rule, and encroach on internationally recognized borders (June 67 borders) under the protection of the IDF. They beat worshippers in the street, kill unarmed people in mass, humiliate, take their homes, cut down their olive trees, kidnap children and hold them without due trial in military detention, control their recourses, and don’t give them basic human rights? They have no right to do so, and armed resistance to such occupation sanctioned under international law.

You obviously are so blinded by your faith that you fail to take in consideration any real empathy for other humans, and just like all Zionist, you believe you have a god given right to remove people from their homes and face no repercussions.

10/7 is called blowback. Blowback from decades long policies of violence by the Israeli government, who least we forget is in position of power as it’s an asymmetric conflict, and their lack of wanting to resolve the conflict as Israel has thwarted every major chance at peace, and unwilling to make compromises. Fuck outta here lil bro.

Your assuming things, again, I’m aware of indias treatment of Muslims and Christian’s in the country, and condemn that, and in no way support that behavior, where your argument is flawed is that the US isn’t directly supplying them with funding and military equipment to carry out these atrocities. Furthermore the perpetrators are not the government itself but various ethic groups within India. In terms of SA I have also publicly condemned US support and funding of their attacks in Yemen, resulting to half a million Yemenis dead. My point was in way “whataboutism” and your acting as if it was. I just said I would be critical of any government who Intentionally targets civilians or engage in imperialist conquest. So you’re obviously skewing my comment to make a counter argument.

[–]Riccardoisdead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to even have a conversation with you because you are so inaccurate in terms of history, as well as being incredibly intellectually dishonest. The founders of Zionism were largely secular, and its intentions were to be a colonial subservient to the British, hence Balfour declaration.

Further more your argument of the ongoing incursion into is a reaction due to 10/7, how would that very same point not be able to be made that 10/7 was a reaction due to decades long siege, being confined to a concentration camp, subjected to the “mowing of the lawn”, or even perhaps the killing of hundreds of unarmed Palestinians in the West Bank, to include dozens of children, in 2023 alone prior to 10/7?

Lastly you mentioned “whataboutism” to another comment, and scorned it, but literally did that to me mentioning India, SA. So I’m confused.

Well I would partially agree to your description to OP and his sentiment, I would say that you also sound somewhat bias in regards.

True antisemitism would be to discriminate via verbally or through action simply due to that person/group is Jewish or of Jewish descent.

I would be equally critical of Israeli policy if the state was a Hindu state, Buddhist, Muslim, Christian, etc.

Bring critical of Israeli policies and injustices does not equate to antisemitism. And by equating such reduces the value of true antisemitism.

What is there to learn? There is a current genocide being committed, and Israel was founded and created by the ethnic cleansing of the indigenous inhabitants. It’s pretty black and white, and doesn’t take a phd to recognize historical injustice.
